The Bearcats and the Red Storm, both talented squads, arm-wrestle for which looks more like a group of guys at the local YMCA who haven't ever read a genuine playbook before.
well i won't comment on st' john's, but with the cats, so many freshman last year, and really not a lot of talent could be the reason why. i agree with your about the offense looking really bad at times, and yes the players were out of postion a lot. why i think this will change?
all the freshman will have another year under their belt, and we have some nice talent coming in, that should be able to pick up on mick's system. trust me, mick has plays, just didn't have the player's to run them last year.
on a side note, cincy has a tough road schedule. road games at pitt, cuse, nova, marquette, gtown, usf, providence, and depaul. we will get a chance to prove ourself, that's for sure.
Seems like they did a pretty good job of balancing things, to me. I don't think anybody can really cry foul. Of course, someone will once we see what all the surprises are.
Mikesyr17, it's never the B-East portion of the schedule that hurts the 'Cuse in the SOS. It's their losing 8 or 9 of those games that hurts. And it's the fact that Boeheim, historically, followed the John Thompson Sr. approach (which thankfully his son has jettisoned) of scheduling precisely NO ONE of consequence before January. Beating up on the MAAC doesn't tell the committee they should overlook the nine league losses. Yeah, but a lot of people usually criticize Big East schools for playing nobody's in the OOC. Syracuse has scheduled Memphis, Kansas, Florida and possibly Davidson this year for OOC. Plus, last year we played Rhode Island, St. Josephs, Washington, Ohio State, UMass and at Virginia. I know we didn't play anybody that great during non conference before our famous tournament snub a couple of years ago, but since then, it looks like Boeheim has woken up a bit.
