This is one of the dumbest posts I've ever seen roltydrol. If you want to find a turning point in the Cubs season last year and one of the main reasons they are in first this year it is Carlos Marmol. Don't let a few rough outings cloud your judgement. The fact of the matter is he is nasty when right and they will continue to use him.

Carlos Marmol will be just fine. The issue is Lou using him in the 7th in my opinion. It seems that when he goes to him in the 7th he presses a little more, the reason for that who knows just an observation. Look at last night and the 3rd game of the Rays series. The Cubs will be fine, Carlos will be fine but maybe Lou shouldn't go to him early.

I agree, but I also agree that Leiber should be used more than just an "eat some innings when we're down by 8" kinda guy. Nobody's saying Carlos Marmol has lost it, I think the original poster is saying that Lieber should be utilized more frequently. He hasn't had a bad outing since early May, and he's walked just 5 guys in 42 innings. 5!

roltydrol, you must be out of your mind. You keep running guys like Marmol out there so they can get back into a groove, you don't bench a setup guy because he's had a couple of bad outings unles you want to shatter his confidence and ruin him. Based on that logic, you would sit Lee if he went hitless three games in a row.
