I think he's going to hem and haw all summer long.  I don't think he's coming back.

I really think that's why the Packers are going to retire his jersey in the first home game this year because they are just moving on.

I still like Favre and wouldn't mind if he kept playing.  I think often players retire because of outside pressures telling them they need to.  So what if he changes his mind, people do it everyday.  Dude can still sling it so why bail?

I agree with you about Rodger's though, I'm sure he thought he would be playing by now.  Either way though, those are big shoes to fill.  Anytime you come into a town and play after the face of the franchise the deck is stacked against you.  Look at Miami and Marino, they still haven't found his replacement and the jury is still out on Cutler.  I know Plummer did ok over there but Elway had some big shoess to fill as well.

The Packer fans are very loyal to Brett, for good reason so as long as he goes back and forth, they will with him.

It didn't help Rodgers this week when he said something like Green Bay fans can get on board with him or get out of the way.  Something like that anyway.  He needs a new PR guy.

Well it seems the Giants are not the only team with some potential "distractions" looming when mini-camps begin at the end of July. Giants may have Plax, Shockey, etc but this Favre story if true puts the Pack's GM Thompson in quite a tight spot. He obviously wants to move the team into the future with his young QB's but doesn't want to look like the Grinch and cut ties with a "legend" and make Brett sign on with another team. Interesting soap opera but c/b potentially a distraction to the team should it continue unresolved into next month.

honestly, i have to say enough already.  i have much respect for Favre and his accomplishments, but i think by him holding the Packer organization and fans alike hostage is doing more harm than good, although he did have a hell of a run last season.  he can still sling, yeah, but he's one year older, and one year slower.  even if he does return and makes it back to the playoffs, i don't see him playing any better in that cold weather up in Green Bay.  that took its toll on him in last seasons NFC title game.  i think it would be better to move forward and begin to prepare for life without Favre, because eventually they will have too.  why keep putting it off and prolonging it.  bringing him back will be seriously rolling the dice.  yes, he's capable of getting them back to the playoffs, but what if he gets hurt?  he's had a great career but it may be time to hang them up.  i think the fact that he lost the way he did at home along with the last pass of his career was being intercepted is wearing on him.  with that said, he just may come back for a chance at redemption.  who knows?  to be continued........

Favre denied the rumors today, this is just another media fabrication on a slow media day for the NFL. Favre's done, he will not be coming back. It is Aaron Rodgers' time, finally.
