letsgopens16-  I don't normally bash other Pens fans, but man- I had to read that thing four times to figure out what you meant... I'll loan you a book on grammar if you need one...

And whoever said that Detroit's sports franchises are winners... you're right.  I agree... and I would have no problem if Hossa signed with any other NHL team... but I'm still licking my wounds and that was just a little too much salt pouring...

Yet again, the Wings beat the Pens.

Turned into the Pats??? Steel Curtain, you must be a new hockey fan. the Wings were doing this years before the Pats started to. its a lot harder winning the Stanley Cup then it is to win a Superbowl. The Wings over the last 12 years have won the top points spot more times then any team in any sport. then play a top team 7 times in 14 days to move to the next round. a lot harder to do then play 1 game against a top team, as they say any given Sunday.

as for this signing, i'm not real sure about it. what makes the Wings the team they are is they are a TEAM, not a group of good to great hockey players. its the Red Wing family in a way very few sports teams ever are. they are close & the owner takes care of his "family". why do you think Scotty Bowman just told the media as long as its this owner he isn't going anywhere. if Hossa buys into the program & becomes one of the family a 1 yr shot at the cup wont hurt the Wings in yrs to come but if he is a Bret Hull type then it may put something in the locker room that can not be easily removed. you dont have 9 straight 100 point seasons on talent alone & i give you the New York Rangers as an example. they have had as much talent as the Wings over the same period & not much to show for it.

letsgopens16.."he dont have a good chance of winning it in detroit they cant win back to back the pens have a better chance he is stupid to leave them "

Apparently, you don't know too much about recent history.  Detroit was the last team to win it back to back, which was only a decade ago.  Also, why do the Pens have a better chance to win the cup.  Didn't they just lose to the team that just became even deeper?

I hate how all the Pen's fans say that Flyers fans have no class.  Anyway why would Hossa want to stay at a historicaly losing franchise.  He wants to win and Detroit is the best place.

So yeah if he does not make the playoffs with the wings i am not going to shed a tear I guess this does prove you know nothing about hockey.  The Wings making the playoffs is as much of a given as the sun rising in the morning.

It's simple.

There are more gay bars in Detroit.

GO HAWKS!

This is just hilarious.

The Wings are by far the best organization in all of sports. They just won the Cup and keep all the same players intact. They then add the most highly regarded free agent.

Anything can happen, but the Wings should cruise to the Cup next year. The other big acquisitions where by teams that really will not contend much. Like Chicago.

The only team that can even push Detroit will be Dallas and they don't even have the offensive firepower to keep up.
