The Indians are on a season downward spiral! When you can't even beat the Giants at home I think (even though its early) you pack it in. I have feeling the front office is feeling the same way and we will now deal CC and any other high priced talent we have.
This thread sucks because I am only complaining about how bad the tribe is this year... there are only 5 teams in all of baseball that have a worse record than we do. I would prefer a coaching change before unloading all of our talent. At the very least a new hitting coach would be nice.
Here's to a second half push by the tribe!!! (but dont hold your breath).
You're right Brutus. It is hard to be optimistic when you can't score runs. i've been flip-flopping between "they're done" and "they still have a chance" for about a month now. I'm trying to stay positive but I think my high school team hit the ball harder than these guys. I'll cut them some slack though because at least they contend every other year.
every time i think the Indians are back, they find a way to doubt me againt. They cant score a damn run in 8 innings againt 2-11 Barry Zito!?!? it took an RBI single from Choo to score Kelly Shoppoch in the 7th? Zito pitched 7 innings and had 7 K on just one run against us. You cant fault Jeremy Sowers, he only gave up 3 in 7 innings and the poor guy is now 0-3. The offense is sickening to watch.
It's just not gonna happen this year guys. That doesn't mean they should or will panic. Wedge will NOT be fired. Shipiro will NOT be fired. These are the same guys who were a game away from the World Series last year. I can see Shipiro trading off guys who will not be here next year in return for MLB ready talent (or close to it). They are not going to completely dismantle the team. The moves they make will be with competing next year in mind which they should be able to do.
I think the Tribe may be buyers and sellers this year. Byrd will probably be traded. Possibly Looch too (combo). CC......that'll be an interesting scenario on if he's traded or not. Either way the Tribe will stay competitive for the next few years at least.
i agree somewhat with you guys i live in va and i am a big Indians fan.....i think we trade byrd good pitcher but little on the older side so anything in return on the young side could be good there but no we need to try to sign cc now if he doesnt then you figure he wont sign at the end of the year and you get nothing so it is all up to the front office guys not to drop the ball here also we need a big stick in the 3-4-5 slot to help victor and hafner ......
