Moss wasn't bad in Oakland because he suddenly became less talented than when he was in Minnesota. If you have been paying attention to the NFL, you'd know that Oakland has buried many careers. Moss didn't suddenly become less talented. It had to do with Oakland itself. Moss simply did not like playing there. He never had a bad season in Minnesota. He had QB's the likes of Culpepper, Johnson, Jeff George, Gus Frerotte, and other QB's. Granted Culpepper did play well even without Moss at times. None of those other players will ever be considered amongst the elites. He had two different coaches while at Minnesota, and two or three completely different systems, yet he still was amazing. There is a reason even at that time TO, admitted to the fact that Randy Moss was the best reciever in the NFL. I like Marvin Harrison and I like Reggie Wayne, but you can not compare them to Randy Moss. He is that much better. No one would say that having Cris Carter was the same as having Jerry Rice. Although Carter had probably the greatest catching ability the NFL has ever seen, he didn't have the sheer dominance and speed that Jerry Rice had. There was no comparison. Moss is on a level above all other modern era recievers. He can burn defenders like no ones business. He can catch very difficult passes while covered by many defenders. This is not a diss on Tom Brady. This is trying to get it thru the skulls of you Patriots, that Brady owes that record to Moss. If he had Marvin Harrison instead of Moss, he probably would've had around 40 TD's, not 50. That is the level of difference. If Manning had Moss he probably would get into the 50 TD range. I remember several years ago watching Moss and Warner playing in the Pro Bowl together, when Warner was good. It was the most amazing show I'd ever seen in the Pro Bowl. Brady is truly an elite QB, but stop denying the impact that Moss had on that game.
Manning, we don't know whether or not his recievers were good because of him. There is no way to know at this point. Most of them have never played without him. It is impossible to guage. Although, I'm sure he helped to make them good. And yes Brady has had rather mediocre recievers during his career and he never had a solid running game like Manning. Then again he h |
