Strahan wasted no time in an interview with Fox net work, and came out and said, "the Giants should get rid of Shockey". That it would be bad to hang on to a player that is unhappy, especially when he is one of your leaders. IT does not mean that he wouldn't play hard, it would not be good for the locker room, and he just does not want to be there.
MICHAEL KNOWS THIS TEAM SO I AGREE WITH HIM. THE ONE THING WE CAN'T DO IS GET RID OF HIM JUST FOR THE SAKE OF GETTING RID OF HIM. WE MISSED OUR CHANCE DURING THE DRAFT. I DON'T BELIEVE WE CAN GET FAIR VALUE FOR HIM AT THIS TIME.
Catch 22, we do not know if he will be able to play or even practice. He gets a big hit on that leg, who knows, we might have already seen the best of him. Not giving up on him, but there is a lot of questions that go along with this, and the big one being, does he really want to be a Giant any more.
I am an Eagles fan, I have to say that i think your team would be a lot better without shockey in the mix. i think boss is a better fit for eli. thats just my opinion but i dont know, you guys know your team better than i do. Just wanted to weigh in.
The quote was: "the Giants should get rid of Shockey". That it would be bad to hang on to a player that is unhappy, especially when he is one of your leaders. IT does not mean that he wouldn't play hard, it would not be good for the locker room, and he just does not want to be there."
Exactly one year ago you could have pulled Shockey's name out of that sentence and inserted Strahan's. I'm a big Strahan fan but I hope he doesn't go Tiki on us now.
Could be. I like all the banter about Shockey and everyone, it helps the off-season go by faster but I'm not down with the whole Tiki deal. I was a big Tiki fan and when he retired and started running his mouth that ruined it for me. I hope Mike doesn't go out like that.
