I'm happy to see Dodger fans think 'outside the box' as it were, and come up with some innovative solutions to the team's problems, but I'm afraid signing Bonds would be completely insane. (Which means if Ned's read your post he's paging Barry right now).
Even putting aside the fact that I personally hate the guy, that Bonds is way, way past his prime, and that the whole signing antiquated ex-Giants thing that Colletti has going (Tomko, Sweeney, Schmidt etc) hasn't exactly worked wonders for the Dodgers lately, the fact is that Bonds would bring far too much baggage to be anything other than a hindrance rather than a help. Plus what kind of message does it send to the kids to bring in a guy almost 44 years old who has been federally indicted? We might need some veteran clubhouse leadership, but we don't need some self-centered dick whose very presence would signal complete desperation on the part of the Dodgers.
Here's a less drastic course of action for McCourt and the Dodgers: Fire Colletti, make Logan White interim GM (with the option to remove the interim tag if all goes well), and let it be known to Torre, Easler, Honeycutt, Conte, and all the players that the collective performance of the Dodgers thus far in 2008 has been totally unacceptable, and that people need to start being held accountable for it.
