Well, as a life long 49ers fan, it is tough not voting for Joe Montana. However, I think that Joe had superior teams to quarterback. To me, Steve Young was the best quarterback ever. Montana had Jerry Rice for seven or eight years, and threw 60 something touchdowns to #80. Young threw 85 TD's to Rice in SEVEN years. That mark was just broken by Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison, but it took them 10 years playing together with the Colts. Steve won the Passing title 7 years, six in a row. No one has ever done that, before or after. Steve was the better runner, and had touch like no man. Brett Favre is great and he was the man for the Packers, but he makes too many mistakes. Tom Brady is good great, but he lost a Superbowl, and he has a ways to go before he is Young or Favre or Montana. Plus, Brady is guilty by associatoin with Bill Belichick. Troy Aikman? The Cowboys were a great team, but Troy was just an above average QB on a great team. Ben Roethlisberger? Who are we kidding, he fell in to a Superbowl win, and has done exactly nothing since. Peyton Manning would be my number four quarterback, after John Elway, Mr. Comeback for the Broncos, who for some reason is not on this list.
