With the return of Andrew Bynum from injury, he issue now is making the pieces fit with one problem position, small forward . . . where Lamar Odom would have to go with Bynum at center and Gasol at power forward. Jackson wants a shooter there badly enough to start his favorite Martian, Vladimir Radmanovic according to the Los Angeles Times.

The weakest part of Odom's game is shooting, a problem that came home to roost with Garnett backing off him.

Then there's Odom's $14-million salary, as the Lakers assume as much as $90 million in additional salary and luxury tax over the next three seasons with Gasol. However, from the day they made the trade, the Lakers never thought they would end up paying that much, suggesting they were already thinking of moving Odom.

If the Lakers had gone on to win a title, with all the good feeling that went with it, they might have given Odom the extension that he's now seeking. Since they didn't win a title, with the Finals highlighting Odom's limitations in what could be seen as a preview of next season, they'll surely shop him this off-season.

well i just hope this isnt one of them trades where we trade a good player for a player like Kwame Brown i say odom to the Wizards for Caron Butler

Nah dude, we should keep Odom.  Artest can opt out of his contract now and if he does we shoud pick him up and release Radmonovich and Mihm.  This would give us Fish/Farmar, Kobe/Sasha, Artest/Ariza, Gasol/Odom, and Bynum/Turiaf.    However, if we don't get Artest if he decides to stay in Sacramento, we could trade Odom for either Richard Jefferson or Josh Howard, both are rumoured to be traded away.  There are some less attractive possibilities in Tayshaun Prince, Nocioni, and Mike Miller out there too, but I think Artest of Jefferson would fit out offense the best.  Though Howard is a good rebounder.  I definetely agree that we can't start Odom at the SF position next year because the lane will be too packed.  We'll have Bryant and Odom who like to drive but only one jump shooter in fisher.  We need a 3 man that can hit the 20 footer.

definetly but i would rather have Josh Howard Though because hes young and he can play defense and offense. Jefferson is gettin there about 29 years old and he is a bad team mate in my case Prince would be a great pick to but it suits both teams. they need a inside player to get rebounds and have good defense and thats Odom it would put less pressure on Rip Hamilton and Rasheed Wallace. Mike Miller would be a good trade but i dont see them trading him away for a player that they already have "Rudy Gay".  i think the Lakers will stay away from Artest because he screws up chemistry and i dont think he would fit well in our system at all.

Odom makes $14 million?..bahahahahaha..his agent must be a genius. After his no-show in the NBA Finals, he shouldn't get more than the league minimum. He's a bum, just like the rest of that roster. Does anybody on that team know how to take a charge? They play matadore defense all game. The Celtics' could have driven one of the Duck Boats from their Championship Parade down the lane against those quitters and not gotten touched..bahaha.

You know, this Chicago character is pretty funny, pretty funny that he still has a football score from 28 years ago. dude your a joke why dont you go to your chicago board and debate and bicker on who your number 1 pick is and wish and pray kobe would get traded to chicago with phil jackson. And also pray on who your QB is for your crappy washed up bears.
