Not since the teams of the early 80's have I ever been so disappointed in a Reds team. I expected the teams of the early 80's to lose. When we had players on the roster the likes of: German Barranca, Dann Bilardello, Bill Bonham, Sheldon Burnisde, Geoff Combe, Vic Correll, Nick Esasky etc.. You expected the team to lose. You expected the team to decline after a brilliant decade of the 70's.

This team is totally different. This team has big names. This team has poetential All Stars. This team is loaded with young talent. There is just no heart! You dontt expect this team, with this staff and this lineup to lose like they are losing.

I have never been so disappointed in a Reds team. This team can't win. It has no chemistry. They have no desire to win. When you make AA pitchers look like All Stars, it's not about the lack of talent any more. Its' a testamnet of wills.

This team, to be losing in the fashion that it is, is utterly embarrassing. They get down by one, two, or in tonights case 8 runs or more, and the game is over. There is no fight!

Never have I been so disappointed!

This Reds team is making me question my fanhood. Never has a team done that to me before. I stuck through the Bengals throughout all the bad years that I was actually alive to endure. At least they gave it their all. This team just doesn't care anymore, at least they play like it. They're content rolling over everyday to get f**ked in the A by other teams. It's pathetic. And I blame Dusty. This is 100% his fault.

I have been saying that all season!  This Reds team has zero heart.  I live in the Bay Area and in my opinion the Reds EASILY have more talent than the Giants and the A's combined!  The difference?  Heart.  The Giants are absolutely terrible.  But they play hard every night whether it be Lincecum on the mound or Zito.  They play hard.  If you did not know what their record was you swear they were in the hunt in the N.L. West.  Same is true for the A's.  Only difference is they have not started really losing yet, but they will.  Tons of heart on each team, not an ounce on the Reds.  Very disappointing.

JZ,
I couldn't agree with you more. No chemistry, leadership and no desire. Its as if these guys are just going through the motions. However in their defense they have had a lot of injuries, which means guys (Phillips, Dunn, Jr,  Harang,  Encarnacion,) need to step up and they are not doing that. Yes there is some talent in Bruce, Cueto, Bailey, Votto who are here for the first time, and it will take some time. This team has no identity, which is a direct reflection on their manager Baker. However this team has bigger issues in that it needs more young talent and it wouldn't hurt to have a veteran in the middle of the line up who can produce.

It is apparent that the Reds are not going anywhere this year so the proverbial chants of wait until next year should start now, which means the Reds need to start making some moves.

Griffey, although it could be tough because of his salary, no trade clause, and perspective teams that may be interested are few. Dunn is most likely stuck with the Reds due to him being a FA.
I know i have taken much heat for saying they should trade away Harang, however it isn't like the Reds are winning with him nor have they won in the past with him, and since the Reds need a big bat in the middle of the order preferably from the right side it makes sense.

I would also try and see if there is anyone interested in Encarnacion, sometimes a change in scenary is for the best and would try and get pitching prospects in return.

In the mean time the Reds farm system which is better than it has been in quite a while can continue to develop  the young players that it has and won't feel the need to rush some of the young talent up so quickly.

Rh,
How can you blame Dusty for all that has happened. The team was put together by Krivsky who

1. Hired Dusty
2. Signed Patterson for 3 mil and can't hit
3.Resigned Dunn, extended contracts to Ross, Hatteburg who is gone, Valentine, signed Gonzalez, Stanton gone, signed Fogg, and the 8 player deal with Washington that really hasn't helped either team unless Thompson arrives in the next 2-3 years.
With all the money Krivsky wasted he could have signed a run producing FA that could certainly help things out right about now.

There are so many areas on this team that need help it will certainly take a few years to fix and get it right
