Well, after hitting into 2 earlier double plays with the bases loaded my Padres finally managed to score with the bases loaded in this very unorthodox way...Whatever.

They continue to struggle at the plate while the Diamondbacks are going into a tailspin. The Dodgers are not looking good either.

I was glad to see Luke Carlin get that triple. He's got a great arm, and if he can start to contribute at the plate we may be looking at a long term fix at catcher.

If they can get this series against the Mets, maybe they'll be in a confident mood and do some damage against Smell-A?

GO FRIARS

Hey Boltnut...

Normally, i would cringe alil' seeing that we needed a play like that to score. But as i was high five'n my friends and family on the play, i had to over look it..

This is what we need, a spark. Take advantage of these games and act like we been there.   Very excited....  Go Pads...

this team is going nowhere this year. between injuries, getting the business all the time from the umps, and our lack of offense, we're not going to be in the postseason barring a miracle.

That's quite a pessimistic statement barring that we have everything going our way as of short. If the snakes and the blue crew continue to slump it while we win series our chances of going post season will begin to grow.

the last two wins have reminded me of last years team. Strong pitching holding the line until the "offense" can push across some runs.

Kouz is driving me crazy in the 5 hole. 13 LOB over the last 3 games. I do think he will get better though....

octaveoff

I can't balme reddog for having a pessimistic attitude...

Mine swings from jubilation to downright suicide... depending on how my Padres manage to win or loose that day, week or?

I agree with statement about Carlin.  Hopefully, he can turn things around at the plate a little.  He was hitting in the high .300s in AAA, so there's gotta be some ability there.

That said, I'll take his .175 avg and defensive abilities over Bard and Barret's wet noodles and .210 avg.
