The Red Wings were obviously the better team. If I wasn't a Pens fan I would have enjoyed watching them dominate so many fundamentals of the game. They truely are a machine. Congrats! Enjoy! Just don't burn down your city.
Listen up buck wheat. 1984 Tigers win the world series IT;S THE ONLY TIME CERTAIN PEOLE BURN THE CITY. Just check the records.... when the WINGS WIN THE CUP it's nothing but a party. Oh 1 more thing when was the last time Pittsburg EVER had 1.5-2.0 milliom people at one of there parades? Pittsburg is a great sport town so quir bashing mo-town when you lost
It was a friendly jab, nivek145. But I'm positive it happened after the Isiah Thomas championships also. Still, it was really a joke. Still, give me proof of 1.5 million+ at any parade outside of NYC on Thanksgiving day. Or course Pitt never had that. That would require the city more than doubling it's population.
Ya congrats to Detroit, you guys played great, just sorry we couldn't give you a chance to win it on your home ice. Only thing I didn't like was looking at these boards and all the complaining from whomever. I really thought after the first two games all the games were exciting and great games even though my pens lost. Its a shame people have to ruin it with whining, this is the best i've felt after my team lost because I got to watch so many great games. Great series congrats Detroit you're defense was amazing.
I love it! Every time a Detroit sports team wins a championship, uneducated people bring out the 'City of Detroit Bashing Handbook.' Yes this city has a lot of problems right now, but we have much pride in our sports teams so every time people have to play the burning card, we know they wish they had our sports teams. Now cue the Lions comments....
First, Congrats to Detroit. I hate to admit it but they out-skated Pittsburgh through the majority of the series. I think the Pens young guys were over-whelmed by the whole experience. It was fun to watch, though.
Nivek, are you saying that half of the population of Detroit showed up for a World Series parade? I think you better get your old photos out and start counting the people you see.
I doubt if they had a gret deal more than what showed up for Pittsburgh's Super Bowl parade. And Pittsburgh only has a little over 2 million in the city and surrounding areas.
