Chad Ford from ESPN has the Cavs drafting Kousta Koufas in his mock draft. I don't know about you, but I'm not too excited about a 7 foot white guy. They don't have a very good history in the NBA. Z has been good, but there have been many more failures. In looking at guys projected to be taken some time after the Cavs pick the two I like the most are Chris Douglas-Roberts and Brandon Rush. Both are shooting guards who have a high basketball IQ, play good defense, can get to the basket, and are pretty good (not great) outside shooters. Isn't that type of player a bigger need and better fit for the Cavs than Koufas? I don't know about you, but I think I've seen enough of the LeBron on 5 offense. I'd like someone else who can create his own shot. Even if the Cavs were able to trade for Redd I'd still prefer a young guy like Roberts or Rush which could actually give us 3 guys who create their own shot.

I think the Cavs should seriously look at that Hill kid from IUPUI.  He's under the radar, but is one of the best players in the draft outside of all the freshman coming out.  He probably isn't a guy they'd consider with the 19th pick, but I'd take him over Kosta Koufus any day.

Whether they take Koufos or someone else, the Cavs need to draft a big man (preferably one who can score) with their first round pick.  Z is on his last legs and you are never sure when he will finally give out.  Ben Wallace is a salary drain and an offensive liability not to mention that he isn't getting any younger.  Joe Smith faded down the stretch and proved he no longer has the stamina to make it through a full season.  The only young guy we have is Andy, and he's made it perfectly clear that once his current contract is up, he will be out the door and won't think a second thing of it.

As for the Hill guy from IUPUI, I've seen him up close from the student section at Valpo, and I wasn't impressed.  Granted that was two seasons ago, but he just didn't seem to have it.

Just my two cents

You make some good points. IMO they really need another player who can create his own shot and go to the rim. Chris Douglas-Roberts seems like he would be a real nice fit. I'd much rather they draft him than Kousta Koufas. If they can get a free agent I think Antwain Jamieson would be an awesome addition to the Cavs. Man, I'm really hoping they get someone who can really help them in this draft. I'm glad they didn't trade it away. They need
a forward who can score...someone like Joe Smith in his younger days. I think the Cavs have come to rely on the 3 too much. It wouldn't be so bad, but in the LeBron era none of the guys they brought in to shoot the threes have been consistent. And these are NBA sharpshooters...Damon Jones/Donyell Marshall/Jari Kuri/David Wesley/Wally....Is it the uniform or what? And doesn't it seems like when someone other than LeBron is hitting the 3's, the Cavs not only win but win easily. And the cavs need to be a better FT shooting team overall. I believe they've shot around 72% in the playoffs the last 3 years. That is not going to get it. But I would really like for them to get a big man who can go to the rim and shoot this off season

i honestly dont care what the cavs do in the draft as long as they make moves to help lebron bring a championship to cleveland  i mean he's the youngest player to 10,000 points and he deserves a ring

I beleive Roberts and Rush types would be ideal for the Cavs. Their outside shooting will come. LeBron kicks the ball out a lot to his supporting cast especially if they are firing on all cylinders. The double and triple teams force him to. A big man would be good but hewould have to be a Patrick Ewing type or Duncan. Someone thats big and has some kind of finess.

This is what is going to happen and remember me when you watch the draft.  The Cavs aren't known to pick well known players like Brandon Rush and CDR.  We need a athletic big man, and honestly I think the Cavs organization knows this.  I believe we will pick Jevale McGee (sorry for spelling).  He is an athletic sophmore center out of Nevada he showed flashes of brilliance with plenty 20pt and double digit rebound games.  He is an athletic long defender that is capable of scoring and playing great defense look for him to be picked by the Cavs with their 19th pick overall and only pick in the draft.
