I guess you sort of smoothed over the part that said "exterior door force is not stated"... but for a standard ADA door 5 lbs of pressure is required. But that is fine, you keep violating that Act, it gives me a job :)
I enjoy cleaning up other people's messes.
Let me help you out.
The closure, at 8-1/2 lbs of pressure, meets ADA requirements at this time. Your original comment was "what is THE NEW ADA push-pull lbs for a door"? Any door? Maybe an overhead door or a security door in a prison facility. You know, where your boss used to live. Anyway mista awkitek, you posed a question that is quite impossible to answer given that the 5 lb requirement was part of the 2003 IBC (International Building Code). Not new, out of date and not changed in 6 years. If I were to install this closure on an exterior entrance door, I would likely provide the necessary actuator for accessability and therefor you would leave it alone because it meets the requirements for inspection from local building officials. But as is the case with most awkiteks who think their sht don't stink, you'd whine and cry until you had your way. Good for you, you just got a change order and the Owner's will love you for it.
