As per ESPN :
Smith is a playmaker at the high school level blending good size, speed and athleticism. He is tall, athletically-built and deceptively strong throughout his upper- and lower-body. Future lies on defense at the next level, and we feel safety will most likely be where this kid lands. Displays good range, ball skills and awareness in coverage. Reads the quarterback well and anticipates the throw.Footwork and coverage technique need some polish, but he closes fast on the throw when supporting underneath. Does a great job accelerating and shifting gears while the ball is in the air breaking on intermediate-to-deep routes as well. Covers his deep zone well with his burst off the hash and above average speed to get over deep out-routes. Will look for the big hit if he can't separate the ball from the receiver. Physical, aggressive defensive back who is very active in run support. Gets over trash well when running the alley, possesses good range (long-strider) and pursues with a high motor sideline-to-sideline. Strong tackler and is reliable in the openfield when he wraps up low. Our main concern is his adjustment to the speed of the game at the next level. Makes a lot of plays with his coverage awareness skills and quick break on the ball. True speed will be tested at the next level versus smarter quarterbacks and faster receivers. Needs to work on building up his body with added bulk and strength to play in the box as the 8th defender. At times, he struggles getting off blocks and wrapping up bigger backs. Smith is a dynamic athlete on offense and is dangerous in space with his acceleration, elusiveness and deceptive strength as a runner. Looks more sharp with his stop-start quickness and burst out of his cuts on offense showing the skills are there to possibly mold into a hard corner in the right defensive scheme as well. Good athletic, prospect who will also provide good depth on special teams.
