If true, sounds like TT might be a little bitter - for what reason, who knows. The funny thing about comments like this, and all of the 'radical' SEC homers who say that "OSU would be a 2nd or 3rd tier team if they were in the SEC", is that there's absolutely no way to predict how good or bad a team would be in another conference. You can't look at overall records, you can't look at the competition played, you can't look at bowl records - it's simply impossible to predict how a team would fare if they played in another conference. There are just too many intangibles - home field advantages, rising to the level of their competition, location (i.e., North vs. South), and any number of other factors.
My guess would be that if JT coached an SEC team, it would be highly competitive - if for no other reason than his overall track record of success. He would have better access to the more fertile Southern states for recruiting, and would build the same type of high-class organization that he's built at OSU.
So, OSU was outclassed by the SEC in the past 2 title games - big deal. OSU shouldn't have been there last year, but because nobody else wanted to go, it fell in their lap. OSU should not be criticized for last year, where they were clearly under-powered vs. a team of LSU's talent. They at least showed up, unlike the 2006 team. Rather, this utter nonsense called the BCS (BSCS) should be called the pile of sh!t that it is - what a joke the BCS is. Folks need to start calling the ever-resisting conf. commisioners and univ. presidents what they are: money grubbers with no guts.
