The Gina Carano / Kaitlin Young fight was great.. Two very skilled fighters going at it, no question. But the rest of this was a joke
EliteXC made a joke out of the MMA last night. That Kimbo fight was ridiculous.. Both those guys looked like 2 guys down at the local gym going at it.
The only thing that was established last night was the view that alot of Americans have about this sport calling it "barbaric". or as McCain put it, "human cockfighting"?? Alot of people have those views, but they don't even watch the UFC to see what it's all about. The UFC guys are very skilled athletes. Now, the first chance MMA gets to showcase the sport on a prime time network, EliteXC delivers us Kimbo Slice as the headliner??? I knew it was doomed before it started.
Plus, if the Lawler/Smith fight was a title fight, then it should have been the main event.. But no, they put Kimbo in the main event to showcase has backyard brawling skills and p*ss poor ju jitsu against the glass jawed Thompson who is a joke himself.
The only thing I was waiting for was Don King to enter the ring and claim Kimbo as the greatest fighter in the world.
EliteXC will NEVER be anywhere near the class of the UFC.
