I'll admit that I have never watched any WEC events, so I don't know what to expect. But I have watched everything that ever had the UFC logo on it, as much Pride as I can find, and all the Showtime stuff (so far), so I thought I would start this thread being that it isn't here already.

After last night's debacle, anything would look great, but this headline looks like a home-run hit regardless. I know all about Pulver, and the "California Kid" sure seems like a strong fighter so it should be most excellent. If last night was an "introduction" for non-MMA fans, then tonight is an introduction to 145lb MMA fans. I am part of that group, and hope for the best!

wow...the wec really put on a good show especially the last 2 fights, and unlike last night, the first fight was ended on a GOOD stoppage, Maeda would have gotten hurt more if they continued seeing as his eye was swollen shut, but good action in the 3 rounds we did see, i thought it was kind of cool that they both had heel hooks on each other at one point, and they both showed good stand-up until maeda got tired, and torres started dropping bombs on him, good fight overall.

Then we had the main event, and to be honest i figured someone would get knocked out or submitted in the first or second round and turns out it was a 5 round war, i would agree with the 50-45, but not with the 50-44, i didnt see any round where Faber dominated Pulver to the point where it should have been a 50-44, but Faber looked pretty dominant in his weight class, like Anderson Silva is in the UFC middleweight class, and i think the question for Faber is like the question everyone has for Silva, who can you throw at this guy next that could even have a shot at beating him. i would like to see Faber jump into the ufc and move up to lightweight and fight BJ Penn, that would be a really good fight, or even see Penn drop down even more, although that would be tough for bj seeing as he walks around at about 170 or 175, but just dreaming, anyways WAYYYY better show than elite xc could have ever put on, and the only reason it went over for 45 minutes was because they werent expecting the last 2 fights to go a total of 8 rounds.

That's the way it should be. You have to dominate the champ to take the belt from him.If it's close it should go to the titleholder.

I think Urijay Faber won every round last night, he connected a lot more punches and had some half way decent take downs. Jens Pulver has a chin of steel though! He took everything the "California Kid" had and just kept on coming. Great fight! Hopefully a good amount of people got to see that. I never expected that one to go the whole 5 rounds. The fight before that was awesome too! A ton of action from those guys. Great fights from the WEC!

WEC cards have brought it every time.  Thank God they are still free!!!  Faber is awesome.  I was pulling for Pulver and I think he made a good showing.  Faber was just to quick and fast.  Torres is the most underatted fighter in all of MMA.  Not for long.  He should be in the top 5 pound for pound fighters in the world.  I have never really been a real fan af Razor Rob, but I appreciatted his after fight comments.

Awesome card!!!!!!!

As I was watching the great card WEC put on last night, i kept thinking to myself..."I really hope Elite XC and CBS are taking some notes here!".  No cheerleaders dancing around aimlessly?  No 15 minute walk to the cage?  No introducing each fighter twice?  Wow, WEC didnt do any of that and they still turned out a great card?!!   Im being sarcastic obviously, but WEC showed they know what we as fight fans enjoy!  As someone mentioned earlier, great card and fights and quality announcing and it was all FREE!  C'mon the last few WEC events have been free and have been as good, if not better than anything UFC has made us shell $50 for in the last few months!!  Elite XC and CBS are already planning there next event for primetime TV again, and I hope for the sake of MMA and just my sanity , that they get it right!  Bravo to WEC and a GREAT night last night! (thats if you can find VS on your TV of course!) ;)
