The ideas are not new, in fact they were what the country was founded on. However someone in this day and age actually following the constitution is new.

Mr. Paul's ideas are a belief in Government that disembodies us from the world. I don't believe in that kind of Government.

Eh, that is not quite accurate. He isn't an isolationist. He believes in free trade and being on good terms with other nations. However I think he definitely believes in not getting involved in any "entangling alliances."

You can read this article on wikipedia that describes the difference between on-interventionism and isolationism. There are distinct differences.

Please enlighten me on how war is good Devil, oh I guess your name says it all, never mind....

Mercury - the first thing you should enlighten yourself on is understanding what you read.  My post was not about how good or bad war is, or even whether taking Iraq was a good or bad idea.  My post was about how meaningless "they wanted the war" was.  Of course the Bush admin wanted the war, and they politicked and lobbied to get its support.  

As for war being good - it can be.  It can also be mistaken and ill-intentioned.  I would think that's obvious, but then again I'm the one that thinks "they wanted the war" is a world clas "duh."
