The finals are set and we will have the most winning franchises face off for the 11th time. The Celtics have won 8 out of the first 10 times. However, the Lakers won the last two times they met. Who will win this time? In how many games will it be decided? What will be the key? Each team has 3 very talented players, but will the role players decide the championship?
The Celtics will have KG play a major role since there isn't a Laker player who can guard him one on one. Gasol would have the best chance, but this could get him into foul trouble quick. Allen is once again on fire. Kobe should be able to shut him down. Odom has never been known as a great defender, so he will have a hard time keeping up with Pierce. Rondo should do much better vs Fisher than he did attacking Billups. Perkins may end up with a very favorable match up if they use Gasol on KG. The Celtics will have plenty of match ups to exploit on offense.
The Lakers will have Mr. MVP run wild on offense and the Celtics will have Allen guard him to no success. Gasol should be guarded by KG and that match up will be a great one, but KG could do well. Odom will face off vs Pierce. We just saw Pierce shut down Prince. Will he shut down Odom. How will Fisher due vs Rando?
The Celtics bench is definitely mote experienced than the Lakers. However, the Lakers bench is younger and can push the floor more.
My opinion is that the Celtics defense will allow them to win this one in 6 games. Spurs, Heat and the Pistons are the last champs and they won it with defense. In championship games, the team with the best defense wins it. The Celtics will win at home and go up 2-0 headed towards L.A. The Lakers will win game 3, but will lose game 4. The Lakers will win game 5 and head back to Boston down 3-2. The Celtics will D Up in game 6 and win it 4-2.
What do you guys think?
