The other day I wrote a post about Doyel's ridiculous sensationalism and outrageous claims.  However, he has managed to top himself here by declaring the series over not only before it starts but BEFORE WE EVEN KNOW THE OPPONENT.

I think Doyel may have reached a new low.

I agree.  I'm a native Bostonian.  However, I recognize that the Celtics are not playing

up to their potentials.  Kobe is not Michael (yet) and these Lakers are the equivalent of the Showtime Lakers of the 1980's or Shaq-Kobe a few years.  If the Celtics Big 3 play to their potential plus the home court advantage it will be Celtics Green again!!!

Screw you Doyel for your bombast!!!

Correction: these Lakers are not the showtime Lakers of the 1980's (Kareem, Magic,

Worthy, et al.) or even the Kobe-Shaq Lakers.  Kobe is not Michael (yet).  And, the

Celtics are in their first year oif being great----still working it all out

Looking back at the article, this actually reeks of sensationalism even more than I thought.  How so?  Not only does he make a ridiculous claim in the headline, he doesn't even back it up with ONE PIECE OF EVIDENCE in the article.  Not one.  All he says is "Kobe's really good."  No reason given that he/they will beat either the Celtics or the Pistons.  Nothing.

If the Lakers play Boston, they will lose. The Celtics owned the Lakers this season if everyone including Doyel wants to ignore that fact. Plus, teams with long layoffs in ANY sport suffer the dreaded rustiness in Game 1s and usually longer (see the Colorado Rockies and the Cleveland Cavaliers). Besides, Boston already showed they can shut down star players like Kobe and Lebron, so LA better hope they play Detroit.

Who cares who the Lakers play, they are on a hot streak. Its a matter of momentum and even if they rest a week i think they will benefit from that. It didnt seem to matter when they rested a week opening the Spurs series now did it? They finished them off in 5 games while the Spurs played the Hornets for 7 games and look tired. I think the winner of the Celtics/Pistons series will be worn out and will be facing a much rested Lakers team. I dont think it will be easy and im not predicting anything but to say the Celtics will win the series because they won 2 games earlier in the season is stupid.

I agree, and I'm a Laker fan! How dumb is it to say Kobe didnt have much help? We've been watching the guy the past few years trying to do it by himself, and they barely made the playoffs!
