At the rate David Price is going, he will be in the starting rotation in 2009.....Just think Shields, Kazmir, Price, Garza, Jackson, that will be scary and then there still is Sonnastine, Neiman, Talbot and more......
Price pitched against Pedro Martinez of the Mets tonight and came out a 2-0 winner and in two starts, Price has pitched 12 innings, 5 hits, 14 K's, 1 BB, an overall ERA of 0.00 and a WHIP of 0.55..........
At this rate he'll probably get a couple of more starts at Vero Beach then be moved up to Double A Montgomery for the rest of the season and maybe, just maybe, a September call up to the Rays, depending on where they are in the pennant chase.
As good as Shields, Kazmir and Garza are Price will become the number one ace of the staff and the AL had better beware because the Rays pitching is going to continue getting better.
