Doesn't matter what Giants fans say. Their so called title is hollow. Means NOTHING to me. No one believes the Giants are the best team. Hell, their own fans don't believe it.
You know, a FLUKE championship is better than none. I'll give you that. However, in your heart of hearts you know there is some merit to what I'm saying. Giants AT BEST are a good team that played above themselves AT THE RIGHT TIME. If the Giants want to make a believer out of me they need to:
Make the playoffs. We've all seen how the Giants' pattern of celebrating Super Bowl wins......even after the following season has started. Resting on your FLUKE laurels will do you no good, especially considering who you'll be playing next season. I don't think this team is capable of bringing an A game nearly 16 times a year.
Go 14-2 (or whatever it takes to win the division). I don't see Dallas winnng fewer than 12, so it'll take no less than 12 wins to take the division.
Have a command presence as a team during the season. None of that crap they pulled last year, like getting stomped by Minny, beating bum teams by the skin of their teeth, letting Dallas light them up (though stopping the awesome might of the Cowboys is no small feat), quitting against Washington, and paying Philly off to not help a rookie LT, and just general underchieving. The Giants basically lollygagged their way into the playoffs then got Devine help from there. Most of their regular season wins were pure struggle. That's what makes their playoff run seem so flukish to a REAL football fan. Prove me wrong. Show me that they can play well all year, meet expectations and not just rely on a wave of luck.
If they come even close to doing any of this, then and ONLY then would be inclined to give them credit.
