mikesyr17--You're not going to win this argument for one simple reason, no team in the BE has a big time tradition of football excellence. In fact only Pitt has won a NC of current BE teams, and they've won only one. Right now you have the SEC as the best conference and I think everyone can agree on that, and the ACC has been the weakest the last 3 years. But the ACC has 3 teams (Miami, Florida St. and Va Tech that have strong football traditions and the first 2 have multiple NC). The other 4 conferences really are all pretty equal but when you look at the schools which ones impress you more?
PAC 10- USC, Cal, Arizona, Oregon and UCLA( i know they havn't won in a while but they still have a tradition)
Big 10--Ohio St, Michigan, Wisconcin, Penn St.
Big 12--Texas, Oaklahoma, Texas A&M(see ucla), Nebraska
Then you have the BE with WV (whoes been very good the last couple of year), Lousiville (which was in Conference USA untill 4 years ago), Rutgers, (Not exactly a winning tradition), UConn (Division 1AA until 4 years ago), South Florida( just started D1 football 11 years ago), Syracuse (use to be good but now there are as bad as Duke), and Cin (also was in Conf USA until 4 years ago).
Untill one of these current teams win a NC and we get some better bowl tie-ins were our #3,4&5 teams are playing other BCS conferences #3,4 or 5 and not there 6 or 7 or are playing MAC teams we are going to get no respect. And to be honest with you if I wasn't a BE fan I would probrably feel the same way.
