Jefe, "draggin' out the series"? That's crazy talk. Do you really think the Hornets are that bad? Do you really think the Lakers would have beat the Hornets in less than 7? What am I talkin about, of course you think that the Lakers would have handled the Hornets in 4 or 5 games, right? The Spurs didn't drag out any of their series. They had a tough and worthy opponet in the Hornets.

*Newsflash* the Hornets are VERY, VERY good and it took a lot to beat them.

I think the Lakers are a good team as well and it's gonna take a lot to beat them. But, the heart of Champions always prevail.

Anyways, gotta love Laker nation and their confidence, swagger, and trash talking.

Looking foward to much more!!!!!

Good luck Lakers fans, I hope for a great series.

GO SPURS GO

I think the Lakers are a good team as well and it's gonna take a lot to beat them. But, the heart of Champions always prevail.Interesting quote, because the lakers coach just happens to be tied for most rings in league history, so the whole champion bit goes both ways, especially since our starting backcourt has 3 rings each. BTW, I dont want to start something with Spurs fans, but I think the lakers will win based solely on the fact that you guys can never defend your title. Personally, Im more afraid of the spurs when they dont have the "defending champs" title next to them, and it kinda shows theres a lack of the iron will it takes to bring the trophy home a consecutive seasons. Something the last lakers dynasty did back-to-back-to-back. If the spurs do win this series though, I dont see them losing to the Pistons/celtics winner, so you better hope the spurs came to play, and have something left in the tank after being exhausted by the young, energetic Hornets. Lakers not really being tested this playoffs also means that they more gas left in the tank, and the extra time allows for the little nagging injuries to heal...Lakers in 7 is my prediction.

I'm out

The Spurs didn't drag out any of their series. They had a tough and worthy opponet in the Hornets.

The impressive thing was getting blown out in the first two games, and then winning 4 of the next 5!!  I don't know how many other teams in the NBA would have that kind of resolve to come back from the drubbing.

Anyway,  Looking forward to a great matchup!   One in particular,  Gasol Vs Duncan.  Gasol played decent defense against him last time they played.   Hopefully Gasol can stay out of foul trouble

CONTRARY TO POPULAR OPINION THE Spurs GOT REST VS. Hornets.

I don't see the Spurs being worn out at all...other than possibly game #1 short turnaround.

THE FIRST SIX GAMES WERE ALL BLOWOUTS THAT LED TO LONG PERIODS OF REST FOR THE SPURS IN THE 2ND HALVES.

The Spurs starters hardly played a single minute from midway of each 3rd quarter through the end of each 4th quarter.

IT MIGHT BE THE LEAST AMOUNT OF STARTER MINUTES EVER PLAYED IN A 7 GAME SERIES.

It is a blessing in disguise that the Spurs had to sit Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli while watching the Hornets & Spurs scrubs play long long garbage minutes.

THE Lakers STARTERS ACTUALLY PLAYED MORE "REAL" MINUTES TECHNICALLY.

Every game in the 6 game Jazz series got to a point where the score was within 5 points under 3 minutes to go including an overtime.

The Lakers got 5 days off so it won't matter, but anyone who thinks that the Spurs got grinded down by 7 grueling games did not watch the blowout after blowout after blowout.

The tense 5 game phoenix series took more out of them then 6 pressure free blowouts.

I'm so glad the Spurs got to the wcf. I believe that no one will think that the nba championsip that we win this year( yes we will win it) would be legit unless we went through the spurs. If we went through the Hornets we would be hearing the same as we laker fans have been hearing all playoffs "the Lakers havent been tested". Lets break it down. True the Nuggets are defensivly challenged, but they did win 50 games this year i think thats 4th seed in the east. Then we faced last years runner up for the confrence title hmmmm......we handled both those teams nicley. so lets look at who the spurs faced. A Suns team who was a shadow of it's former self. Spurs handled them nicely. A young inexperianced but good if not great young team in the hornets. Now the east lets look at the Celtics Asub .500 team in the Hawks took the celts to 7 games. A cleavland team who wouldn't even be in the playoffs out west gave the celt's all they could handle. Detroit is up next. Survived a scare from the sixers (not a very good team) and slapped down detroit. Hmmm. so by peoples reasoning the if the lakers havent been tested looking at their opponets neither has the celts or detroit and the spurs barley been tested but all you hear is that the lakers havent been tested. Thats my take anyway.
