Going with Nadal. The game is so much faster, but he reminds me of G. Vilas back in the day.

My opinion is Federer has only one thing on his mind and that is to win the French Open. He is using all the warm up clay tournaments to gain knowledge about the competition and wait for the French Open to use it. He is a very smart player and his approach is to win not only physically but mentally. He will send his girl friend on vacation and concentrate on winning again, especially, especially, and especially at Roland Garros, a title that is required to be a true great in Tennis, that has yet to won. It would make him over-shine Sampras and Aggasi, and become the super champion of this generation. It Is now or never as Dokovic and Nadal are maturing and will not let anyone dominate them in the coming future. It is too hard to maintain top form and have a life, which I am sure Roger wants to enjoy his life now, as much as anyone. He really wants to be in cruise control except during his French title efforts, where he needs every aspect of his game at his command.

This is written as an analysis that I hope he is taking so that he will become what his fans want him to be, as well as the dream he has for himself. With the rackets of today it is easier to dominate the sport if you learn their secrets and I suspect he has and will put out an extra effort in Paris for himself and all of his fans.

Nadal will win he's still the best on clay, but I think he'll break down physically in the next few years because he plays such physical tennis.

You gotta think Nadal here. He has simply owned the French. Djokovic probably has an outside chance but he is clearly better suited for the hard courts.  The problem with Federer is that there are just too many clay court specialists.  I think he's a great player....probably a better "all around" player than Sampras, but the French may be too much.  Besides, Nadal is to Federer on clay like Federer is to Roddick anywhere.

Against all logic probably, I went with Federer here.  On a hunch.  It may be his last shot to win a French.  And unlike some of the American tennis greats, it's not like he's been total mush on the surface.

As always, Federer has a chance, but the only way I see it happening is if Nadal has an injury.
