Although Dunn takes MORE than his fair share of criticism, he's still very valuable to this team. You can't get any more clutch than that. A walk off 3 run homer. I for one, think that Dunn recieves all the excess criticism because of his huge contract. It's like people think that the more someone is paid, the better they perform. While this would be true in a perfect world, it's not true in baseball. Make no mistake about it, Dunn is overpaid. Although he is overpaid, he's not as easy to replace as you might think. He and Big Papi are the only two players to account for like 100 runs, 100 rbi's, and 40 homeruns 3 out of the lasy 4 years. Let's get back to the good stuff......
Let's go Reds!!!!!!!

As a fellow Reds fan I must respectfully disagree with you JrBuckeye. While his walk off was clutch, I think he deserves the criticism he gets. In my mind Dunn is an inning killer that couldn't go opposite field if his life depended on it. His numbers and occasional walk offs don't make up for all the K's and errors. The truth is we are too much of a small market team to carry a contract like his when he helps us lose more than he helps us win. I would probably be more accepting if he wasn't making 13 million and Jay Bruce wasn't tearing it up in AAA. Do you think Krivsky's firing had something to do with that contract (serious question...not being sarcastic)? Anyways, the Reds may be in last place, but I have high hopes for the future. I have a good feeling about Volquez, Cueto, Bailey, Harriston, Bruce, Votto, Keppinger and of course Phillips.

Bpettit23 If you replace Dunn with Bruce, as you imply, who would replace Griffey? High hopes for the Reds future! The future is NOW!
Go Reds!

Yeah, I'm usually on him because he rarely comes through in the clutch. He's shut me up the last couple of days. If they can keep getting clutch hits, the pitching is there for a run at the division.
Has anyone else down at the games this weekend noticed that the Cleveland fans are being a total pain in the ass? Rude as hell and obnoxious. I usually get along with the Browns fans, but the Tribe fans on Friday night were at their worst. Must have been a bad week at the tire plant.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!!!!

Bpetit23 I agree with everything you have said about Dunn,I disagree with that if he made less money that i would be ok with his production.First off he plays in the easiest stadium in baseball to homer in,so his numbers should be alot higher.Second of all he is 1 dimensional player so he should be in the minor leagues.Dunn is absolutely one of if not the worst player in the game today.Wait till he gets traded and watch his numbers decline drastically then he will be out of baseball.

Bruce should replace Griffey in RF he has a great are and shouldnt be wasted in LF, EE should replace Dunn in LF and for now start Freel at 3rd. When A Gonzalez is ready to come off the DL move him to SS then when Kepp is back what can be a long time start him at 3rd. By doing this the Red I feel would have a better team and save what 30 or so million and add some more another starter plus another top RP. I would really like to see the Reds create another nasty boys set up .

I think Dunn deserves the criticism he receives. He's always among the leaders in strikeouts, and they usually come when it really matters. When he's bad, he's REALLY bad. The only thing I like about Dunn is when he gets hot, he can carry this team.

I didn't mean to imply Bruce should specifically replace Dunn. As long a Dunn is Red he needs to be in the line up. I just want to see Bruce in the line up also! A currently last place team keeping the widely regarded #1 prospect in triple A doesn't make sense to me. If I had my way Bruce would replace Patterson, Bailey would replace Belisle, Keppinger would start again when he comes back and Harriston would move around to give everyone rest. Go Reds.....absolutely!!! But how can the future be now if two of our top prospects are in triple AAA?

man dunn gets a lot of undeserved criticism. he is paid $13 million, and i understand that is a lot for a small-market team to pay out. but players are paid according to what they're expected to do, and if he hits 40 HR with 100 BB, R, RBI, like he always does, he will have earned it.
to say that dunn is one of if not the worst player in baseball is one of the dumbest things you can say. he strikes out a lot, but so does virtually every power hitter in baseball not named Albert Pujols. those power hitters are still way more valuable to an offense than players like jeter, eckstein, Michael Young, etc.
there is one legitimate knock on dunn, which is his defense. but there are worse left fielders in baseball who rarely catch the same flak. i don't know why dunn is such a lightning rod for criticism, but he really gets people up in arms.
