Hey guys, I threw my thoughts on where the AL will end up, with a focus on the surprise and disappointment teams, on my blog.  If you're interested, let me know what you think.  Admittedly, my knowledge base is a lot better for the East.  I tried not to inject to much bias, but I know a heckuva lot more about the O's, Rays, and Yanks than the other teams I went in depth about.

Yeah, I have the same problem. I think Seattle is going to make a late run despite their slow start and provided Cleveland avoids injuries, they should be in it too. The White Sox have a shot as well. In the NL, I think the Cubs get deep into the playoffs, but at this point, I think this is Arizona's year to win it all.

I appreciate your request, but it's way too early to get a true handle on this.  Some folks like to predict way before they have enough knowledge about the season.  Remember, it's a 162-game season, just like the years before.  So, having been around a few years, I only look at the Season as it stands NOW.

Let's not take away the thrills some of us get now.  I don't think ANYONE has a clue as to how it'll all stand, come October.  And to predict it NOW?  Only means you and your friends are Gamblers, of whom I care not to engage with.  That's a losing game, ask anyone who lives in Las Vegas or Reno.  Drop the bets, they're made for Losers.

Yeah, I meant no harm to anyone on this thread, but I'm so tired of the money fools push towards the evils on our planet toward predicting what sometimes falls into the judges/refs/umps/players, etc.  No, I'm not kidding.

Well, I'd hardly call it gambling to make predictions.  It's just what I think, a way of airing expectations.  I'm not a gambler at all, but I do like to speculate.

I'd hardly call gambling"an evil on this planet" because I don't see a victim, except perhaps oneself.  If you gamble all you have away, I'd call it natural selection.  If you throw some coins in the slots, I'd call it harmless entertainment.

Perhaps gambling revenue goes to people who do "evil" things, but not moreso than the money you drop at, say, Wal-Mart or on a tank of gas.  I wouldn't hold up gambling as an example of moral excellence, but it's certainly not among one of the worst problems this planet faces.  I don't mean to disrespect your opinion, and if you think it's such a terrible thing then by all means continue to discourage it, but I'm not going to stop thinking about possibilities for the future.

Never mind, I figure if you didn't get my efforts, no one else will either.  I told you not to take offense, but yet you did.  So, forget it.  This has got to be way over anyone's heads.

It must be nice to live back East again, where all is fair, and the evils ignored, like in DC.  Bushed again!

No, I understand, I just don't agree.  I'm not really offended, just surprised that you extrapolated so far what my intentions were.  I just think it's fun to make predictions and then see how you feel.  Believe me, I am NOT comfortable with the status quo, especially in DC.  I don't want to get into politics really, but just let it suffice to say that sports and chatting about them is an escape from all that is awful, for me.

I didn't mean to jump back, and I apologize if I offended.  You're right, let's forget it.  The board here is just for us O's fans to celebrate our team.

I'm not a gambler either. It's just fun to discuss what we think will happen over the course of the season.

OFF TOPIC CONTENT

There are plenty of people in this country who are about to have a rude awakening. With the possible complete collapse of our economy within the next six months and Martial Law looming over our heads, the times of our liberties and freedoms seem to be nearing it's end. See people, this is what happens when you turn the other way and ignore what has been happening in this country. You take things for granted and they will be taken from you. In France, they’d be launching a general strike. In Argentina, they’d be burning things down. In America, we change the channel and send out for pizza. We truly are about to get what we deserve. It's terrifying. This is something I've been keeping a close eye on and it is NOT good. The arrogance is about to come to an end in the worst possible way. We've become squatters on a land which has been sold out from under us by our Great Capitalist Elite. People have chosen to live like Ostriches with their heads buried in the sand. They didn't want to see the truth over the last few decades including 9/11 and they didn't want to know either. Didn't want to hear it because it scared them, well guess what? Now, we're about to have our very way of life stripped out from under us. This stuff really makes me mad. How can so many people be arrogant about their country while turning a blind eye to the reality of the situation? It doesn't make any sense. Anyways, sorry about going off topic, but the Byrds got me talking about it. I am very afraid of what is ahead for the United States.
