The SEC leads in total number of NFL players and per team average, the ACC is second. The average per team is too low. The SEC is around 27-29 per team and ACC a couple less. This has been hashed over many times on other threads so we're all familiar with the stats. By the way the BT was third and Pac 10 fourth.
Actually, # of active NFL players per BCS conference team as per the NFL itself (1 DEC 07):
- SEC: 21.3
- Big 10: 20.6
- ACC: 19.4
- PAC: 18.1
- Big 12: 13.9
- Big East: 10.6

UK had 4 players drafted this year, Vanderbilt had 3, including a 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder. Each had more players drafted than FLA, 2 this year. They had more players drafted than CLEM. MO, S. FLA, PSU, ILL, and HAW, just to name a few ranked teams from last year.
Vanderbilt had 4 or 5 sign free agent contracts as well.
CC was right. How was CC right? Indiana had a few players drafted this year too, and they suck. Having a quick WR or a star QB doesn't make up for the other 21 players.

That's funny. So far we have 4 different sets of #'s.

CC was right. SECFAN - if CC was "right" on this statement, then the statement is meaningless because there isn't a BCS conference around that has team(s) with zero NFL players.

"We got season tix to Kentucky this year because they had a better home schedule---far better home schedule than Ohio State--at half the price."
So Bismarck,
Are you coming back to Commonwealth this year?
And do you visit Keeneland while you are here?
Yes, the OOC isn't great, but we had a great time last year. Good roadtrip, but we haven't hit Keeneland yet.

"SEC is solid in all sports. Men's and women's. PAC-10 is second. After that there is a big drop."
Wow, that's a worthless statement. Want to throw out any more extreme generalizations while you're at it?
Who really cares what the "best conference" is? It's fun to argue about it in the off-season and before bowl games but does it really matter? I think most of us would agree it is the SEC in football recently but what does that prove?
