Dawgdaze--

I put (Vin) Keisel in over Rogers/Williams because neither has suited up for the Browns in a game yet.  I know (somewhat i didn't watch many Packers/lions games) what they did last year, but I can't put them on the 76/80 team until they perform for the Browns.

Mano

Does Ben have as much room for improvement as DA?  No

that was my point.

As for the other QB's mention.  I think Brady's improved stats are due to Randy Moss coming to town, not development of Brady.  Belicheck has always let Brady's receivers go when they asked for more cash.

I thought Mannings stats dipped a little this past year, not improved.

Unfortunately i recall Elway being pretty darn good when he was young : (  I wouldn't say he got significantly better when he got older.  Just played better in the Superbowls.

Can't recall early in Montana's career that well, I am only 31.

Young is a good example of NFL experience being a necessity to hit your prime.  He sat behind Montana all those years.  Once Montana went to KC, he struggled as a starter and people were actually saying Bono (i think that was his name) looked better than Young when he relieved him.  A few more seasons down the road Young was one of the best QB's in the NFL and stayed at that level until the end.

the first half stats favor Ben

first 8 Steeler opponents

Browns, Buffalo, San Fran, Arizona, Seattle , Denver, Cincinatti, Baltimore.

take away Seattle Denver and Baltimore and gmiller's mom could look like an all pro against all of these.

First 8 Browns opponents

(Steelers) Cincinnati, Raiders, Baltimore, Pats, Miami, St Louis, Seattle

Steelers are in parenthesis because DA came in to relieve Frye.  He didn't take 1st team snaps heading into the week.  so I don't really count that game towards his stats too much.

I think cincy is the only d that g's mom could light up.

Ben was 137/208(66%) for 1742 yards, 20 TDs, and 6 INTs through 8 games.  DA was 148/257(58%) for 2108 yards with 17 TDs and 9 INTs.

DA didn't play the full Steelers game and didn't take 1st reps leading into the game, that might account for 3 touchdowns.

He still threw for almost 400 more yards.  I know you love completion percentage, but you had a solid running game during this strech to take pressure off your passing attack.  Jamal was injured for some of these games.

G,

that much is given.

I just think the Steelers, Raiders, baltimore, pats pass defense could slow her down a bit.  She would do ok against Miami, St. Louis and Seattle.  However, she would absolutely light up the Bengals, Browns, buffalo, arizona, and san fran pass defense.

Agreed?

geno...I will let you look up the opponents because I just don't feel like going back and doing it, but logic would dictate that since the Steelers and Browns played similar schedules last year, that the Steelers second half was tougher than the Browns.  If, of course, the Browns first half was tougher than the Steelers.

Ben played only 7 games, sitting out week 17 vs. Baltimore, and his stats were...
127/196 for 1412 yds, 12 TDs and 4 INTS
Add in the Wildcard game against Jax as his 8th game and he was...
156/238 for 1749 yds, 14 TDs and 7 INTs

DA was 150/270 for 1779 yds, 12 TDs and 10 INTs.

Sorry, Ben was better all around.
