are you gay?

Honestly.... I can't think of a more non-topic than Gay Marriage.

If you're not gay it doesn't apply to you, might as well be opposed to a law that says the lines on the street must be red instead of yellow.  Who cares?

If you are gay, then it makes you happy, obviously.  Good for you.

Having read each post on this particular thread I can say that there are varied prospectives and valid points on all sides of this issue, ie those for and those against and those somewhere in the middle.  Would like to address the statements re that this is a sports site so therefore all posts/threads/blogs should not be diluted with anything other than sports.

There are two listings: "community home and about community" at the top of each page of this site.  CBS admin does indeed want participant members to regard this site as a community - and community brings about varied subjects - humans who are well rounded mentally seek dialogue on many subjects......thus the multiple thoughts about multiple topics from multiple people.

Even reading posts that one does not agree with does have value - the value of reading them, considering them and deciding that some of them express ideas one would want to incooperate in one's own ideas or none of them have anything one wants to make a part of their own ideas or some have even one idea one would want to remember.

Reading that which one decides is an incorrect way of thinking about the subject strengthens one's own opinion that one's own thoughts are correct......ie there are certain subjects such as animal abuse that I absolutely refuse to change my determination to lessen it if total elimination is not possible regardless of what anyone else has to say, period......all other subjects I will consider other's opinions.

The maturity of the poster can be easily ascertained by the amount of insults and slurs the poster chooses as the way in which to express themselves.....and twists and turns other's statements and facts.  These posts are for the most part not welcome and are negatives on this site as well as in any dialogue. 

I think gays should do whatever they want in private. Let them marry, but call it that "partnership" word, and let it include all the rights of "marriage", but keep the word "marriage" for men and women. These people are just getting thier kicks by taking what has been accepted behaviour for thousands of years and turning it upside down. "See what we got away with - tee hee". Now its just "cool" to be gay. If it was really so natural, then why the sudden explosion of gays? Because in todays world of "monkey see, monkey do", the media has made being gay somehow better than being straight. TV shows have higher rates of gays than in real life, in movies too. Anything that gives some people amunition to squak and bitch will be greedily accepted. After we as a society get bored with the gay issue, what will be next?

   I'm waiting for the normal response "you have issues" or "your a phobe". Those are the lame comebacks I expect from idiots. Its like when some snot-nosed teenager tells his parents "whatever". It really means they have no valid statement to make and so try to "end" the conversation with a stupid snub.

"Issues" - We all have our ideas of what is right or wrong, but if I say I dont think being gay is right, then somehow my viewpoint is no good because you slap the lamo line on me that  "I  have issues". Its the cheap way out of a discussion for idiots.

"Phobe" - Just cause I dont care for something, does not mean I am "afraid of it". Once again, another lame way out of a discussion by a person with no ammuniution for real discussion. If I do not like the color pink, does it mean I am scared of anything pink?

We all have our rights to our views, but its the far left that is always wanting to change what is accepted behaviours, and then call the rest of us "bigots" or "phobes" or "has issues" because we are not on thier bandwagon.

Go ahead, walk around upside down on your hands, wearing a green and pink speedo, with a corn-cob sticking out your bum, but just dont call me a phobe or bigot cause I think you look stupid.
