Javon Walker was reportedly outplayed by Drew Carter at Oakland's recent OTAs. Coach Lane Kiffin says Walker needs to improve his conditioning.
We don't put much stock in summer practice reports for most veterans, but Walker is a different case. He has a ton to prove after looking like a shell of his former self last winter because of his chronic knee problems. We are ranking him as a fantasy reserve until he shows something, and this is a rough start. This is wrong he should have gotten better cause our medical staff gave him clearence and a boat load of dough

I hated the signing due to the injuries and that he was cut rather than traded for no one wanted him! He also has had his knees sliced on several occassions but I hope that we haven't paid this kind of money and get the same results Denver received last yr. Let's be patient and see what happens in August although this is disheartening.

I wouldnt take toooooooo much intrest in this.

Walker is hardly going to be wanting to sweat blood in the OTA's and/or probably pre-season and any other drills for that. A gammy knee and a truck full of money have led to that I guess.

Lets not forget, Carter is playing for the No3 receiver posistion so he is going to come out of the blocks hard - even better for him to outplay someone like Javon. It's eyecatching.

My only worry is that they meantioned his "condidtioning" was off. That could mean several things - Physical or Health?

Did he run 40 Yards in 3 hours 47 Minutes in bad condition or do they mean he sneezed on the sidelines and his knee dropped off kind of conditioning?!?

Joe Echamandu practiced harder then any other player and we cut him. Not much stock in this. Walker is coming off knee injuries and I wouldnt expect him to be in perfect shape because he is limited in what he could do to train because of his knee.

He is usually in great shape every offseason so im not worried about it.

Good signing Al, give top dollar to a WR that cant even keep himself in shape in the offseason or healthy during the regular season.  Maybe he got into a Big Mac eating competition with JaMarcus Russell before practice... who knows.

Come on Miked, your better than that.  The JaMarcus Russell "story" was proven false incase you never watch ESPN or NFL network.  He's 6'6 and at 268 right now, close to his playing weight.  Brandon Marshall on the other hand has trouble keeping his footing around fast food....

Not sure how long he's been cleared to train and practice in order to get back in shape. Seems to me like he's had plenty of time to get back in shape!

Hopefully, for the Raiders he's not pulling a Shaun Alexander and simply saying "Thanks for the money!" I don't think that is likely because he didn't get a huge signing bonus.

I think you guys have no middle ground with this guy. Either the move will turn out to be really good or really bad. I don't think it will end up in the middle somewhere.

Maybe he got into a Big Mac eating competition Your biggest concern should be what he did with the wrappers.

Brandon Marshall on the other hand has trouble keeping his footing around fast food....Game one: How many fast food wrappers come flying out of the Black Hole onto the field every time Marshall misses a reception?

If I know the Raiders fans...game one...national TV! They'll be looking to mock the hell outta Marshall for any mistake. I'm sure their will also be some classless signs mocking Cutler for his diabetes as well.

And empty syringes.

At least I hope they're empty.

And unused.
