Kobe didn't play selfish. And none of his teammates choked. The Lakers had six players in double figures, meaning a balanced offense. Gasol had 13 rebounds, Odom had 6. I don't know what you mean by ' choking', but that was not 'choking'. Just shut up, Doyel. You do not know what you are talking about at all. Jesus. I wish I could be paid to write a bunch of barely coherent, false statements.

Oh, and by the way, I would like to see Doyel trying to defend a legit 7-footer from shooting a 3-pointer. Yeah, not that easy.

You guys watched the game, right? You watched the fourth quarter? Pau Gasol had the worst double-double in the history of double-doubles. He is SO not as good as his numbers, if this game was an accurate representation. Seeing him in person ... wow. Not good.

Considering what L.A had in Kwame Brown, Gasol is Kareem, Wilt and Shaq wrapped in one...Gasol is very good, the problem is he's really a power forward playing center out of necessity. When Bynum comes back next year, you'll see how good he'll be playing the 4 spot.

Doyel, your are what your numbers say you are. There was no choke job. There is no such thing as 'the numbers don't tell the story'. The numbers tell the production. The production is what the player is supposed to put out. The ball was put on Kobe's hands because that's where it belongs in the 4th quarter. With Kobe. Everyone knows that. And yet he still managed two assists in the 4th. And you're saying his selfishness can be good, like in this case. You're wrong. Kobe drove in for a layup late in the fourth that got blocked by Kirilenko and Millsap, a turnover that was critical and led to Utah cutting the deficit. If Kobe did that the whole fourth quarter, the Lakers would've lost. Thank God he didn't.

Doyel-
I do enjoy your articles but this time I would have to disagree with the "worst double-double of al doubs".... if you watched the game, in the 3rd quarter, i believe Pau scored 3 straight possessions when everyone was struggling... and double-double doesn't represent the defense he played on Boozer down low... the guys played a great gm

Bears, I completely agree. After watching the game in the wee hours of the night, Kobe wasn't the only one running the show. Sasha Vujacic was hitting threes, Pau Gasol was playing good underneath and Lamar Odom was scoring inside and out. Their balanced enough that I think they could win it all. Which I would hate to see actually.

You guys are wrong and I completely agree with Doyel on this. The Lakers are a completely different team this year because Kobe actaully has legit teamates who can contribute to their success. Kobe has talked about it throughout the season that he actually trusts his mates and doesn't hesitate to give them a chance like in years past. Kobe has often been criticized for taking too many shots and being a ball hog. However, like Doyel said, that was necessary in game 6 because at the end of the game, everone was playing like crap. Look at game 5 where Kobe didn't even take a shot in the 4th because everyone was playing so well. In game 6, their lead was cut to 7 with 5 minutes left, and like Doyel said, Odom and Gasol were playing badly at the time, so Kobe, being the MVP that he is, put the team on his shoulders and kept the lead for good. Doyel's talking about his selfishness which he is always criticized for was the reason they're not playing game 7. Don't worry Doyel, some people get it.
