I vote Wagner as our next Manager.  He has been outspoken on the Mets performance and calls out guys when needed.  Randolph should take some pointers!  Randolph continues to say he handles things inhouse, but nothing seems to change.

You realize he is a mole planted by Mr. Steinbrenner. Who better to have as a mole than a longtime Yankee. Good luck  !!!!!!!

It is amazing that Wagner is being portrayed as a racist because he spoke the truth, the same guys talk to the media after a win and run after a loss , David Wright spends more time before and after games speaking that its only a matter of time before his game suffers.

Hmm...I think that would be an interesting idea, but not for the present. Wagner has been doing good, and I don't think he wants to stop yet. Maybe when his pitching days are over, it will be more of a possibility.

It' sad that a closer has to be the lead voice on a team that has to many players that play everyday were brought in here to do just that. I'm spanish and my no means i took wagner's words as being racist. The man spoke the truth and all of the rest Mets fans should'nt be mad. Why when he does'nt get into the game and when all these position players make way more money than him is he ask to do that. I'm very disapointed in this season so far Delgado / Alou and Beltran are veterans who should take matter into there hands and be the lead voices oh I forgot David Wright alot has been put in his shoulder and by now should be also account for any mislapse in this team. Wagner is no racist he was just speaking the truth and we should be playing way better and not run away from the media and be confront on whats so far a lousy 2 months into the season.

Again, it's an interesting possibility going player-manager, but if that were to happen in the middle of the season, I'm not sure that would do much good for the Mets. Too drastic a change for the season to be 25% over.

Yes and I'm sure the players that hate him in the locker room............virtually everyone........would respect him as their manager.  Guys who play every inning every day have nothing but respect for closers who on the average throw about 40 pitches a week.

The Mets need someone like Wagner to say whats going on, who cares if he pisses people off in the lockerroom, it comes down to playing to your potential on the field. Manager is out of the question but I would vote for Wagner to were the captains C on his chest.

 Lets go Mets.

Lol, I hope you were joking about a closer being a player-manager. 1) who closes when he gets thrown out for arguing with umpires? 2) what makes you think position players are ever going to take direction from a pitcher who throw 3-4 innings a week? 3) Who takes control of the team when he's in the bullpen warming up?

On top of all of that, name me one pitcher that has become a successful major league manager?
