as shown in today's game and the game two days ago, we need to find a strong closer, right now this is the only thing that is wrong with our pitching, if we get a strong closer we may become unstoppable

The tribe is paying Kobatashi 6 million (or something like that) he has over 200 saves in Japan . I say give him a shot at the job . Put Benancourt back as set with Perez . And when Joe B. is healthy again trade him to the Brewers for a pack of gum

I agree that Kobayashi should be given a shot.  I was never a fan of giving Betancourt the role.  He's a setup man, leave him there.  When JoeBo comes back it's his job.....now if he continues to struggle then and only then does he lose his job.

Also Kobayashi isn't making $6M this year.  It's more like $3M (6M was for 2 years).

Man, you just don't give up on Borowski do you? He has been the worst excuse for a closer I have witnessed in years. The save is the most over-rated of stats. Give up two runs with a three run lead? Save. 18.0 ERA for the game? No biggie. Borowski needs to be given his unconditional release. He isnt bad, he's awful. He's what 37? 5.07 ERA last year, but look at those save totals! How many blown saves? Was he the leader in that catagory too? If not, he was close. BRING ON THE HOT DOG EATING CHAMP!

I think Betancourt could have closed games last year. He's just not pitching well this year. He wasn't pitching well before he was moved to the closer role. If JoBo comes back and is healthy they seem set on giving him a shot to reclaim the role. Saves may be an overrated stat, but they are the only thing that really matters to a closer. JoBo's 5+ ERA last year was terrible, but his save percentage was about 85% which falls into the "Pretty Good" category. I think 90%+ is considered excellent. If JoBo proves to really be finished it looks like Masa will be the next option. I can see him getting a few chances between now and when JoBo comes back. I like the fact that he's an experienced closer. He's also been the best guy in our pen this year. I like the idea of him closing with the Raffy's setting up. This essentially just means we traded JoBo for Masa in our pen from last year and kept the rest the same.

Borowski led the AL in Blown saves last year with 8. He also had 7 more save opportunities than anyone else. Thats how he came to lead the league. Joe Blow is an apt nickname. Knowing Wedgey, Joe will be back as the closer, and back to giving up leads in the ninth soon. Betancourt is not the answer either. He was 3 for 6 in save opportunities last year. Hot Dog Time! Just think about the promos we could have. Milwaukee has the Brat Races, we could have "The Champ" chase them around the park biting at them. Fun Stuff.
