I was just looking at our schedule for the upcoming year, and I have to say that I feel pretty good about it. We play almost all of our toughest games at home. I see us being somewhere between 10-6 and 12-4, depending on how we are with injuries and whatnot.
Week one- We've go the Jaguars to start out with again, this time in our house. This game is really tough to call. To be honest, I think we'll split with the Jags but I dont know whether we'll win at home or not.
Week two- We go to Cincinatti. Last year we just got toasted by the Bengals, this year I don't think they'll be so lucky. With a healthy Albert Haynesworth and no Chris Henry and maybe no Chad Johnson, we'll probably be able to pull this one out.
Week three- We get the Texans in Nashville this week, but they will be better than last time. That being said, we absolutely ted thier offensive line both games last saeson and I don't think they'll be any better up front than they ever have been. Another win, especially since it's @ home.
Week four- This game will be a tough one, if the Vikings have found any kind of passing offense. Don't get me wrong, Adrian Peterson scares me to , but the only reason that any back last year got over 100 yards on us last year was that we were injured up front or they had a good passing offense. As a homer, I'd like to see us win this one at home, but it wouldn't surprise me if it went the other way.
Week five- we go to Baltimore to play the Ravens, who will be completely different than last year. They'll have a different QB, and a different head coach ect. I'll go ahead and say this one's a win because I don't see Kyle Boller or Joe Flacco getting it done for the birds.
Week six- bye
Week seven- Everybody's talking about what a great draft the Chiefs had, which they did, but they will still not be good. They Just have too many holes and lost the defense's best player. We'll win this one coming off the bye.
Week eight- Will the season really be halfway through by the time we play the Colts? This one, like Jacksonville, is tough to call. Hopefully, we'll split with Indy like we've done the past two years. I'll say we get this one on the first Monday night in Nashville in three years.
Week nine- We get Green Bay at home, which is good for us. Even without the Ironman, the Packers will still be a good team next year. They finally found a running back and that defense will be amoung the top in the NFC. But ours will be amoung the tops in the AFC if we do like we did last year, and that's what will help us win this one.
Week ten- We travel to the windy city next, and it's another tough one to call. If we get last years Bears, we'll beat them without a heck of alot of trouble. If we get the Bears of two years ago... well, there's a reason they went to the Superbowl. If they generate any kind of offense at all it will be pretty tough to beat that still very good defense.
Week eleven- At Jacksonville. Like I said, just pick one as a win and one as a loss.
Week twelve- We get the Jets at home for the second year in a row. I'll pick this one as another win just because they probably will have run thier best chance of winning, Chad Pennington, out of town by then.
Week thirteen- Detroit always play teams tough in thier house on Thanksgiving. They have the most proven QB in the NFC east. I'll say a win anyway beacuse they aren't going to have much of a defense.
Week fourteen- We get Cleveland at home. Goodness knows they'll be mad at us for knocking them out of the playoff race last year. If Derek Anderson has another good year, this could be a very tough matchup.
Week fifteen- We go down to Houston. I say we sweep them yet again this year.
Week sixteen- Another tough game that we got lucky enough to get at home. Still this will be a very tough game. As shocking as it may seem, I think thier running game may be too much for us with Willie Parker and the rookie Mendenhall.
Week seventeen- Actually, if the Colts are in a position of clinched homefield advantage, we may win both of our meetings with them. If not, I don't think there's any way that Tony Dungy will allow that to happen.
Ok. So there's my optimistic evr so slightly slanted take on this year's schedule. Let me know what you guys think.
