Hope you guys don't mind a rival throwing in predictions for your season.  I like to think of myself as objective, but you can be the judge...

Bama:  Very close W;  you have more talent and a greater sense of urgency to start strong.

Citadel:  W; by 40.

NC State: W; don't let them stay in it too long, if they do it will be close.  Start strong and put them away early.

SC State:  W; BY 40-50.

Mary:  W; Good to have this one at home.  Will be close, but your athletes will take over.

WF:  W;  Had to really question this one.  Thurs. night road games are always scary, but after bye week you will be well rested and motivated.  Late 4th Q, win.

GT:  W;  Jackets are the my surprise team in the ACC this year.  Good scheduling, w/ extra days to prepare after a physical and demandind WF game.  Once again, pulling easily late.

BC:  W;  Should be ranked in top 5 by now and this will be the time to prove you belong.  Not that BC will be a great team, but watch out for looking ahead to the following week...FSU.

FSU:  I was going to to say toss-up, but we're here to make predictions.  W;  I hate to say it, especially since I will be making the trip from Col, OH, but this will be your last win in the Doak for a while.  Same old QB issues and lack of consistent WR play, although the talent is there.

Duke:  W; need I say more it's Duke.

Virginia:  W;  they surprised some people last year and Al Groh can coach so this may very well be the one that ruins your perfect season, but I'll still give you a win.

SC: W; AND A BIG AT THAT.  I love to see a Bowden beating up on Spurrier!

Now that leaves you undeafeated and in the ACC Champ. game.  Another win and into the BCS Championship...w/ a loss to UF.  Hate to say it but that's my prediction.

Short story long , he ACC had 12 players taken

And in '07 the SEC had 11 first rounders, and yet was still the best football conference last season.  So much for "can't take a hit like that and be good the next year."

Again, though, it's not the year by year that's indicative of a good school or conference.  It's the ten year averages, which overwhelmingly favor the SEC.

which overwhelmingly favor the SEC.

Alright already with the SEC rant. We get it man.

Now if you really wanted to make the SEC a true superconference here is whatcha do...

First remove the 3 weak links from the SEC. South Carolina, Vandy and Ole Miss. Then you would add some teams that are SEC caliber like Clemson, FSU and Miami. That way the SEC would never again have to make excuses for the 3 crapholes that I propose are hung up on the bottom...

according to the ACC website, the ACC has led in first rounders taken total in the last 3 drafts, including leading all other conferences in 06 and 08 !

25 1st rounders to the 21 for the SEC. How is that for dominance. Also , the ACC set a record for having 2 players taken in the first 4 players drafted for 3 consecutive years ! That has never been done before my friends...

So how ya gonna spin that one USC_COOKS?

Well, you phrased it kind of funky, but your stats match up with what you meant to say.

It's funny how you stopped at '06, cause if you include '05, the total first rounders are 31 SEC, 30 ACC over the past four NFL drafts.  As I've been saying, the SEC may not have the most first rounders (though they almost always lead in overall players taken in the entire draft) year in and year out, but over time it is there.

We'll have to wait and see what the opening day rosters look like this year.  At the close of last year, we (USC) led you (upstate team) by one player on active NFL rosters.  That, my little friend, is the true stat.  Drafts are guesswork, but making a roster actually means you're good.

No, my little friend, the TRUE stat is Clemson vs. South Carolina head-to-head.  So much all of those great pro football players that have come out of South Carolina.  I guess they were late bloomers and didn't reach their potential until after out of school.
