yeah, it just shows the team is built through the draft and not free agency. that is why we have had 1 loosing season in the last 6 years.

I read over the article and it seems to me that the focus was on recent drafts that would comprise between 28-23 year old players. The Ravens are not an old squad, but I think this time frame is a bit too narrow. I think it should go back to either the 2000 or 2001 draft and account for those players on the roster. The Ravens have something like 80% of its roster from drafted or undrafted free agents. See the list of players that are not homegrown is rather small.
Derrick Mason, Trevor Pryce, Kelly Gregg, Corey Ivy, Frank Walker, Gary Stills, Fabian Washington, Willis McGahee, Brendon Ayanbadejo, and Justin Bannan.
69 out of 79 players suited up for this mini-camp or 87% was either drafted by the Ravens, signed as a undrafted free agent, or street free agent that is on this squad.
43 of the 79 players were drafted by the Ravens or 54% of this roster is directly tied to drafted players.
These are outstanding numbers and show that in order to stay on an even playing field that you must have success in the draft.
We may have not had many pro bowlers in the past 3'4 years of drafted players in part because we had a ton already on the roster. We have drafted solid players that have contributed to the efforts of a winning ballclub Haloti Ngata is a prime example.
Oz continues to find players in the later rounds that will be solid players down the line. Even this year with Tavares Gooden, Tom Zbikowski, Haruki Nakamura, and Oniel Cousins show that you find the winning ways in the second day of the draft.

Ravensray, I noticed in the minicamp fims that you guys also brought in Xavier Lee in and see if he could possibly make the team. The kid is big and could possibly move him to a WR spot, but what from I saw he was at QB. He might give Boller a run for his money. Also have any of you guys noticed that Flacco is about 1/8 of an inch away from having a full unibrow? lol, just thought I would pitch in my two cents worth.

Lee has been lining up all over the place, from WR to TE to QB. Who cares about Flaccos unibrow?

i wouldn't get too excited over xavior lee. he was horrible in college, so bad in fact that they were trying to move him to te. and since he is such a team player, he decided to go to the nfl with nothing on his resume. at least if he played a year at receiver or tight end, he would have gained some experience. if he makes our team, it wont be because of his qb abilities.
