So... the White Sox continue to struggle.... They can't hit and now the pitching is heading south for the Summer.  What do you see Kenny doing first?

Dye is probably your most marketable player right now. He is hitting pretty good, and an offensive starved team could like the Padres could use his stick. That would allow the Sox to play Brian Anderson every day and see if he is the long term answer in center field.

It's a little early for this kind of talk don't you think?

If we continue to be a supbar ballclub, I think Kenny will realize that it's time to go young, and sell off Dye and Crede, Thome's a free agent after the season, and I'm pretty sure he'd be a type A and get grabbed by some one like the Mariners, which would give us at least 1 extra 1st round pick, 2 if some one out of the top 15 signs him.

I've been thinking about this for a while now and decided that  Ozzie should be fired. Is there anybody on the team that respects him?

In the first place, he really wants to have a "Grinder" type team with speed & defense, take the extra base, steal bases, get your uniforn dirty  type team.  It irriatates me to see him always laughing and joking in the dugout.  Also, you would think that he would stop "ranting"  after all these years.  I will never understand why they signed Uribe for 4.5 million, either.  I think that the players have no respect for him anymore, 2005 is ancient history now and they need a change.  I don't think Ozzie knows how to make the team better, there are better ideas coming from this board !

Ozzie is a victum of an AL team,  with power and pitching, unlike the NL, speed and defense.    He could probably find a coaching job with Florida.  Plus, didn't he say that he doesn't  need the money?   If they are going to restructer the team, they should first find a new manager. They still will need long ball threats because they are in the AL and they play at the CELL.  You can't win at the Cell unless you hit more HR's, then your opponent.

They will also have to spend for free agents. I'm sure they will keep Quentin and , some of you won't like this, they wil also keep Swisher, he'll get better, give him time.  Other then those 2, and not counting pitchers they can trade everyone else!  They don't have to get young,  younger, yes, but most of all better!

They have a very good group of pitchers, must keep Vasquez, Floyd, Denks, Jenks, Buehrle, Linebrink, Thorton and Logan.

Yea, I agree it's a little too early to talk about this stuff, but DAMN IT!!!!!  I just cannot figure out this team..  One game they look like they could crush the 1957 Yankee's then the next I feel like me and my 8 buddies could whoop their a$$es in some good ole' fashioned sandlot ball..  I just don't get it....    If we don't improve and start winning and winning soon, I foresee an entire different team after the all-star break....

COME ON SOX!!!!   Lets get it together!!!!!!

To put it simply, no it is not too early for this kind of talk. This is a very poorly constructed team, plain and simple.

Trade Dye?? They tried that last year and the only person dumb enough to want him was Kenny. So what does Kenny do after he can't trade him for anything of value? He signs him to a high dollar contract and gives him a no trade clause. Thome wanted by anyone ?????????? Why would anyone want him? He is not a good baseball player.

Kenny is by far the worst GM in pro sports and has left this team dead for the next several years by trashing an entire farm system while trashing the pro team at the same time, a very rare feat. Untill this worthless bum is gone, nothing else will make this team a contender.

Oh but he did get Alexie Ramirez, lol. Swisher. Cabrara, Dotel, Linebrink........

WSworld1, you are so far off base.  it's not Williams fault that Thome and Konerko aren't hitting what they should.  I wonder what you would be saying if Konerko was traded and having a good yea?  .  Williams was rated earlier this year as being in the top ten of GM''s, by people more knowlegable then you.   How about the players he brought in like, Quentin, Jenks, AJ, Swisher   ( yes Swisher, he will get better)  Vasquez, Danks, Floyd, Dye and Linebrink.......

Its not Williams fault Buerhle has been terrible and Thome can't hit anymore.

How about Contreras who helped them win a World Series?  I bet you can't name more then 5 GM's that  are better?  Blame him for the lack of talent in the minors, but don't blame him for the lack of production of several players. Also, don't blame him for not signing Hunter, Rowand or Fukudome, I know close is not good enough, but Williams was very close to signing those 3 players

If you have to put the blame on someone, put it on Ozzie.

I dont think you can say Kenny is the worst GM, he had a mixed offseason. How can you complain about bringing in players like Danks, Floyd, and Quentin? Is the minor league system crappy yes, but that is because the minor league staff they had and have suck. He made a horrible trade by acquiring Swisher for basically the entire farm system. He is not what they needed and to give up what they did for another slow thumper didnt make any sense. He rebuilt a horrible bullpen, he may have overpaid but he brought in guys to get the job done and they have so far. I bashed Williams because of the Swisher trade and a little for the Garland trade this offseason. I still think he should have traded for a little more than just cabrera. I can never say he is the worst because he makes a lot of good moves but he did do a couple of bad things this year and I think thats all it is, a bad year for him. If we keep Quentin for the next 8 years or so then its going to look great down the road. I do think keeping Alexei Ramirez in the club is a horrible decision.
