Next year there is going to be a pretty solid group of potential free agents.  Key word here is potential.  Some of these players are going to get extensions during the season keeping them from hitting the market.  That aside though, who would help the Titans take it to the next level at the same time giving the team the most bang for the buck.  There are WR's , RB's , and defensive players a plenty.

Let's start with the WR's, why not?

Terell Owens, TJ Houshmandzadeh, Roy Williams, Lee Evans.

Assuming TO has a good season there is no reason he won't sign on with the Cowboys again and retire a Cowboy.  TJ could be on the move but he's going to want a hefty pay raise.  Depending on what happens with the Titans passing wise this season he will likely head elsewhere, greener passing pastures.  Roy Williams will be playing elsewhere next year unless the Lions open the vault.  This guy is solid and will command big bucks.  Would still like the Titans to get on board and sign him.  Lee Evans will never make it to free agency, the Bills will lock him up long term.

RB's are obviously not a need barring a major career ending injury.  Players of note.

Steven Jackson, Marion Barber, Brandon Jacobs.

None will hit the market.  These guys will be signed to long term deals.  The only exception is Barber if his demands are too much for the Cowboys to bear.  Not likely though.  They will meet in the middle.

Defensive players.

DE's - Julius Peppers, Will Smith.  I would expect that Peppers will get re-signed even considering his lack of productivity last year.  Will Smith may hit the market and will get big money from someone.

DT's - Tommie Harris, Albert Haynesworth.  Here's hoping the Titans get this done before the season starts.  Haynesworth has to be signed to a long term deal.  He WILL get major cash from someone if we let him test the market.  Tommie Harris has flip flopped on his desire to stay or not to stay with the Bears.  There is a good chance he'll be playing elsewhere next year.

LB's - Keith Brooking, Karlos Dansby.  This is a toss up.  Both could hit the market and both could recieve long term deals.  My feeling here is that Brooking will move on and Dansby will get his contract.  Cards are moving in the right direction and I think he'll want to be a part of it.  He's the centerpiece of the D right now.

CB & S's - Nnamdi Asomugha, Terence Newman, Dunta RobinsonKen Hamlin.  All of these guys are impact players on their respective teams.  Unless cap space becomes a problem all of the guys should get the deals their looking for from their teams.  The one mover could be safety Ken Hamlin.

I don't think the Titans are going to need to go after any of these guys assuming everything stays the same as it is now.  The only area they could need upgrading next year would be at receiver.  This is the last chance for these receivers to prove they can get the job done.  After that its time to blow it up and try again.  Roy Williams would be a nice place to start.

well.....

First of all i think Housh and TO will get extensions...R Williams would be nice...i wouldnt like for us to get Evans

we will Sign ALbert to a long extension

and i think Asomougha and Newman will be re-signed too but i would love to get one of those two if we could

there was a article where Mike Reinfeldt stated that they dont wont to spend all there money this year so they have  a head start in FA next year...so maybe they are hoping some os atleast one of those players are on the market so they can grab them up

Good Post!

Depending on whether or not Fat Al is resigned, he and Tommie Harris would be awesome.  But being a Bears fan also, I know that it is in their top priorities to resign Harris long term.  Unless the Titans break the bank and lay out a record breaking deal, he won't be coming here.

Roy Williams would be nice.  Maybe one huge FA acquisition would set the Titans over the top.

we definitly need to sign Albert.  We will never go after TO, "as long as Fish is the coach", but do agree he will re-sign.  TJ will stay in Cincy.  If anybody is leaving the Bengals it will be OCHO CINCO!!!!!!!  As for Roy, i like it!!!!  Has played with Young, and i think would fit in with our style of play.

I am pretty sure we sign Big Al to a long term deal if he plays at the level he did last season this season, I think the organization wants to see if he plays like this another year before they sign him long term and his productivity starts to go down. I still believe no matter how bad the fans want it, we will not go after any big name WR's even if hypothetically speaking TO or Houshmandzadah were on the market, I do believe however that a WR like Roy Williams or Lee Evans are not as much of a gamble because they are not as popular and you can sign them to short year deals for not a huge sum of money and if they are productive and succeed in the system you can give them contract extensions.
