Rafael Furcal is headed to the DL until at least May 21st with back problems. This could signal the end to his hot start. A back injury tends to linger and will effect the entire game of a player like Furcal: his swing, his speed, his defense. Hope you traded him while his value was highest. This could last a lot longer than the Dodgers are letting on.

This could signal the end of Furcal's hot start but I don't think that any of us Furcal owners were expecting him to finish the year with a .360 batting average.  I drafted him, expecting a bounce back year, and would be happy if he hit .290 with 12-HR's, 110-Runs, 30-SB's.  Obviously the length of time he is out will affect his chance to achieve these numbers.

I am hoping that he comes back and is still fairly hot and will look to trade him then.  As you mentioned, not only do back injuries seem to linger longer than other injuries, but they also seem to be recurring issues.  I could see this thing flairing up again in the second half of the season.

Hope you got rid of Furcal!

I agree, Furcal could be spiraling down after this injury. It always seems something prevents this guy from performing to his capability. I held on to him a little to late...

I've got Betancourt from SEA to cover for Furcal while he is on the DL. thats all that is available from my league, it goes deep. When Furcal comes back is he worth the stats he is producing now? if not is this the time to make a move? what value does he have to  help pick up another player
