This could signal the end of Furcal's hot start but I don't think that any of us Furcal owners were expecting him to finish the year with a .360 batting average. I drafted him, expecting a bounce back year, and would be happy if he hit .290 with 12-HR's, 110-Runs, 30-SB's. Obviously the length of time he is out will affect his chance to achieve these numbers.
I am hoping that he comes back and is still fairly hot and will look to trade him then. As you mentioned, not only do back injuries seem to linger longer than other injuries, but they also seem to be recurring issues. I could see this thing flairing up again in the second half of the season.
