And Saddam didn't invade Kuwait?

Well you did say that you wanted to elected the old guy, but hire a young guy to do some of the job that the old guy is supposed to do.  I believe that is how the government got so big to begin with.

I choose the lesser of two evils until the time is right for real change which is our responsibility to overseer.

Big governmant didnt get Big by having an old guy hire a young guy, big government got bigger by hiring so many people to hand out free cheese to those that are finding out the hard way that you cant feed a family of four on $19K.

But by elected McCain you are saying that we should go in the exact same direction that we have gone for the last 8 years

McCain has more experience than the others. I had enough of Bill back in the day and the other one is simply not ho he says he is.

Any man that sat in a bamboo jail in between sessions of torture had plenty of time to value the meaning of real freedom.

Same here, but if we all say we need to help others,

I help those that help themselves only. My 7 yr old daughter bought an cream cone from the ice cream man last night withthe money she earned doing chores and getting good grades in school. At 7, she already understands the relationship between work and reward.

Its like the refineries, everyone is saying they want one, but not one person is volunteering to build it in their back yard. Wrong, there are multiple states with refinieries that can handle another one and would welcome them. Texas, Louisiana to name two.

Sooner or later someone has to make a compromise... will it be you?

Absolutely, I will compromise. Instead of being indifferent..... I will teach anybody that wants to learn how to pull up their bootstraps, how it is done.

Honestly, why do you guys still debate about why we went into Iraq?

I personally feel it was a bad decision to go in. I don't think we got the full story, but I also don't think Bush did it for personal gain. It was a bad decision either way, but that's irrelevant.

We are there now. That's what is important. We can't change the past, just hopefully the future. I do NOT want us to be in Iraq for multiple decades, but leaving now in my opinion would be a tremendous mistake. We need to win (which we need to define) the war and get out as soon as we can as we can't support an occupation with the way our spending habits our. Pulling out immediately would just make things worse though.

Whatever your view, get beyond stuff that does not matter, and discuss what should be done to fix it.
Well the latest claim of victory that I have heard is peace.
So we are trying to provide peace for a region that has never seen peace.
Somehow I suspect that we would have a better chance mixing oil and water.

You might want to try it... of course that does mean enlisting in a war that you support but refuse to fight...

Right.  Because I refuse to fight.  Sure.  Actually if called upon I would go, but I've never been called upon.  So, in the mean time, they have my info.  Obviously the armed forces have plenty of help.

Not really.. unless you actually plan on answering the question next time :) What has any of that to do with Obama's brilliant plan for change, his unquestionable resume, and complete honesty with the American public? (I hope everyone recognizes the sarcasm)Hummm... a guy who has individual beliefs regarding politics as opposed to following his parties wishes (see McCain on torture and abortion).

I would rather a president be an individual than a fixture from their respective party who will agree / disagree with what the majority says.  That is after all how we ended up with W (Worst).

Again I would rather risk questionable experience than questionable decision making... but that is just me.

Again I would rather be divided by options than united in ignorance.

Sorry as opposed to watching Hollywood's scripted version I prefer to actually live it and then visit my fellow soldiers in VA hospitals.

For some reason I find reality more stimulating then a movie script.

Don't act like you're the only person who knows a Veteran of Foreign War.

Oh yea... that's right.

I mean it happened so long ago I almost forgot.

Can we still attack Rome since they invaded Pakistan in 32 BC?
