With all of the pre-season polls coming out I thought now may be a great time to see what the fans think.  Who do you believe has the best shot to become the next NCAA National Champions of college football.  Please take the time to vote and give a quick explanation of why you have chosen that team.  Also please rate this poll and all posters in order to keep the thread going as long as possible.

I guess I'll get this thing started.  As much as it pains me to do so, I will need to vote for Ohio State.  They just have too many weapons on both sides of the ball.  USC will have far too many distractions this year.  Georgia looks to be a strong contender this year but I just can't see OSU letting another one slip through their fingers.

I voted other. As much as I'd like to say West Virginia, that's probably not realistic even with my homer glasses on - the cards could fall right, but who knows..    You list 3 teams from the Big 12, not sure that you even listed the best ones as the Longhorns and Aggies may be as talented as those 3.  Nevertheless, it'll be hard to go unscathed through the Big 12, plus win a conf champ game - same with the SEC and your Florida and Georgia choices - what about LSU??  They lost a lot of talent, but seem to still be right there with everyone.   Bottom line, you gave 7 choices, I'll take all the rest with the likes of:

WVU

LSU

UCLA (don't laugh - they beat USC and it's a cake walk to the NC game)...

Auburn

Texas

Just to name a few..

tOSU isn't a bad pick either.

my ND boys don't have a prayer so i won't say them.

i think usc and osu will battle it out. usc loses 5-10 + guys a yr due to the draft or graduation and they are still competing for a National Title. Ohio St has played in the last 2 title games.

The SEC is a tough as ever and all those teams love knocking out one of their own so i don't see LSU or UF in the title game this yr. They may only have 1 loss but I think OSU or USC go unbeaten.

my 2 cents worth...

I'm leaning toward St. Olaf College.
