If we took all the great High School football players from Texas, California and Florida and had them play a round robin tournament who would win? No dissrepect to my Cally brothers but I think they finish 3rd. Even though Cally is a huge state but to me Texas and Florida are the two best High School football states. I like Florida to edge Texas and in fact didnt Miami Northwesten HS beat I think South Lake ln Texas last year in a game last year when they were ranked 1-2 in the nation? Im sure Ohio, Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsilvania, Louisiana, and a few other states will say they are the best so please make your case. Id love to hear from Cassells on this one!

Ohio and PA should be in there. i played in PA and lived in florida where i attended games. they are fast but not nearly as tough as players from PA.

These are clearly the top 3 states as proven by the numbers of top 100 players that come from them year in and year out.  I played in Texas and can say that I wish I hadn't.  My orthopedic surgeon is glad that I did though.

If we are going to throw other states into the mix Georgia has to be mentioned.

Never thought about it, but damn if that wouldnt be alot of fun to watch those three go at it.  I remember not too many years back they had some college exhibition game of "Florida vs. Everyone."  It was kinda a cool idea, but I would much rather see the three states match up in high school senior classes.

I played high school ball in Texas at Arlington Lamar. We played Panama City, Rutherford in 1998 in Orlando and beat them on a last second field goal. They were the 5A champs the previous year. We didn't even have a great team. The next year we beat the crap out of the Colorado State champ.

At the time in 1998 it was anomaly--playing the previous years 5A State champion. But the boosters put it together and we won. Last minute field goal.

I then moved to CA after high school for college. I got to see DeLaSalle play Long Beach Poly...those two teams were unreal with talent on one side...and complete discipline on the other. Plus DLS had some incredible skill players that just took over the game.

But pound for pound...I don't think anyone can compete with Texas. The kids there are taught at such a higher level. The coaches there make great money and have no desire to leave for college football.

This is all in my opinion with some backdoor bragging. :-)
