Dear Obama,
Before you proceed further into this "Prez thing" you must raise up your button pushing accuracy rate. There are two buttons on the nightstand of the bedroom in the White House. One button Says "TO NUKE" the other says "NOT TO NUKE" we simply cannot afford for you to be WRONG on these buttons.....
Signed,
John Q Public.
So you are putting more faith in a 72 year old man than someone who actually has a future to call their own?

Brocious,
Your posts are typically well thought out and I respect your opinions even if there are some I don't always agree with. You're smart enough to understand a hypothetical... please don't play dumb simply to prove a point.
Let's say the factory is t-shirts... better yet, white undershirts. It's a product that's always in high demand. Since there is a much higher demand for the number of white undershirts compared to the number of private jets, not only would more people be employed, but the t-shirt factory would have more intrinsic value on society that the one that makes private jets.
We're dealing in shades of grey here. There is a market for private jets, but simply beacuse the people who buy them are greedy. If they wanted to be a positive contributor to society, there are a lot more socially beneficial things they could pour their money into. Do they have the right to do whatever they want with their money? Yes, but they could also be more responsible with it. Simply having money does not make it okay to behave like a 5 year old grabbing all the toys in the store.
Sorry, you're right that last post was a little demeaning.
I was just pointing out that the jets do create basically the same amount of jobs.
If I understand you, the point you are really making is that they could invest into something more sociably responsible than a jet.
Your probably right, though I don't think it would create more jobs. The bigger difference would be when the product is finished more people then themselves benefit.
But I'm sure you own things that are primarily for your own enjoyment. Everyone has their toys, even if they justify them somehow. Even if a billionaire invested 75% of his income into socially responsible projects he would probably still have the big toys.
I just opposed the thinking that rich people are evil bastards because, like everyone else, some of them are good people and some are a$$holes. We may not like the a$$holes, but should we make laws that affect the good people to get the the ones we don't like? Personally I don't think so.

So, we should have the right to tell people what they should spend their money on? We already heard from some poeple on here what is enough for someone to live on, and they shouldn't have more. Are you kidding me?
Oh, well. I'm not a socialist, so I don't understand the thinking.

Proving that McCain is exactly like GW I predict that it will be in less than 3 months before McShame goes from a staunch pro-choice supporter to the biggest pro-life advocate this world has ever seen.
Remember this in 2000 http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=4823197 McShame blasting Bush for abortion?
The evolution of McBush is almost complete.

No, thats the way recession is defined.....GDP it either grows as it is doing or it recedes hence recession which it is not doing and will need to do for 2 consecutive quarters to be called a economic recession.
Wow you are an ignorant POS . A 3 trillion dollar deficit , inflation, devalued currency, less disposible income , falling housing market and high fuel prices vs. level GDP. Hee hee, man there is no way you went to college, if you did ,you better ask for a refund.

Who can live on 19,037 for a family of four....
If I made $19K a year I wouldnt have a family of four. Just becuase you have driver's license doesnt mean you can drive a car. Just because you can make a baby doesnt mean you SHOULD have a baby.
I am not speaking theory .I waited till I was 40 years old to have a child, We waited until I could afford to provide for her in a manner that provides her real opportunity. Guess what. She IS Doing Wonderful becuase her daddy now can now afford a house in a Dsitrict that has the best schools in the state. It's called PLANNING for SUCCESS and the goverment never gave me a handout yet.
NO FREE CHEESE HERE ...........JUST HARDWORKING BOOTSTRAP LOGIC.

Give a little more credit to how America's views on race and gender effect their decisions. Why is it a disservice to call him black? Does black carry negitive connotations? I think your starting prermise in itself can be viewed as a racist comment.
Obama is a black man self evident . If your agrument is because he is black........... that is a disservice
Your vote for or against Obama should be based on political views.
My question for Obama is his conectuion to Rev Wright. Wright is clearly a man who sees differences based on color.
