Thatta kid, IGnR! Don't do anything that might change the outcome of the series. In all seriousness, I once read a poll in which something like 30% (I forget the actual number) truly believe that their actions can affect the outcome of the game. I live in Iowa, and when the Drake Bulldogs were on their magical run through the MVC, their #1 fan (and member of their Final Four team that took UCLA down to the wire) Dolph Pulliam had this blue leather suit he'd wear to the games. Once they got on a winning streak, the fans wouldn't let him take it off. Apparently, it got pretty uncomfortable to wear as the weather got warmer. My own personal superstition is my Konstantinov sweater. If I wear it for a big game, I expect that the Red Wings will win. If they don't it's obviously my fault for doing something wrong
In response to wingnut's post about this being a disappointing series...nothing against the Stars, they took out two very good teams to reach the WCF, but I think most of the credit for making this a not-too-exciting series lies with the Red Wings dominance. Plain and simple, they've been on another planet, especially since Ozzie came in, and no one can touch them. The Stars haven't led a game at any point during the series. The closest they've come is tying the score. 180 minutes of hockey, and Detroit hasn't trailed for a single second. I wrote last night about how I was disappointed that the Stars didn't show much fire in the third period last night. Now that I think on it, and watch some replay, the Stars were giving it all they had; the Red Wings were just that much better.
