Unless anything NEW or more COMPELLING EVIDENCE occurs ..... will fans finally grow up ?

Will they let it go and just accept they were beaten?  I do understand what it has been like to be beaten by the PATS, after all I do live in charlotte, NC and am a Carolina fan, which were beaten by the PATS in a great Super Bowl game.

I fault the Pats less and less as time goes on and ask... "why didn't we think of this first?"  Then I realize that many teams did do things like video taping the sidelines and so on before this "spygate"  occured.

And if there is no St. Louis Walk through video it just goes to show that people and former St. Louis players were just trying ride the 15 mins of fame wave in trying to make a name for themselves.

I do agree cheating is wrong and they did get more than a slap on the wrist for it .... Imagine who else they could have gotten in the trade if they had their 2nd to last pick in the first round.  .... Not to mention the good chunk of money they lost.

BUT LET'S MOVE ON PEOPLE..... and I really can't wait for the next great NFL season to start.

Blame the commish...  He destroyed evidence and created a scandal.  If he only had that evidence now he could shut everyone up.   I have never heard of a governing body destroying evidence.  It has nothing to do with the Patriots it has only to do with protecting the integrity of the game and assuring that the NFL doesn't cover anything up.  Which is exactly what destroying those tapes made it look like.

Unless anything NEW or more COMPELLING EVIDENCE occurs ..... will fans finally grow up ?

I would like to see proof that these new tapes are not "NEW and more COMPELLING EVIDENCE", unfortunately we, the NFL and Spector have nothing to compare them to.

yea, this never would have been an issue if goodell didn't destroy the tapes.  that was perhaps the worst move he could have made.  i'll grow up when they show me what the Patriots were actually doing.  until then i speculate all i want.

Dude I am grown up.  Look the Patriots turned over 5 video tapes, Matt Walsh turned over 8 video tapes.  How come a guy that hasn't worked for the team for a few years has more videotapes than the Head Coach, who doesn't have a lapse in employment with the team, turned over?  If this is something Bill Belichick has been doing for at least 6 years nonstop, shouldn't he have more tapes?  Why did Matt Walsh have a tape of offensive signals and the Patriots only turned over defensive signals on their video tapes?  This, I think, will cause the biggest issue with any additional penalties that may be leveed against Bill.

I really am apathetic toward the Patriots as a franchise, I was actually pulling for them in Super Bowl XXXVI, but I have no respect for Bill Belichick, or the Patriots ownership for not firing him immediately, for this videotape scandal.

Of course Pats fans want to MOVE ON.  I would want to MOVE ON TOO if I was publically embarassed. People aren't satisfied with a $500,000 fine for BB and the loss of 1 first round pick.

Why?  Because the Patriots, including Arthur Blank who has managed to come out clean in this whole affair, have been acting all-along like this is nothing big (not newsworthy) and that's a load of crap.

From the moment this story broke the Patriots organization, and their fans have been acting like it's a small issue, not really worthy of bringing their recent success into question, and that also a load of crap.

The Patriots cheated.  Period.  They deserve every bit of garbage thrown their way, and that includes the owner who acts like he's running for president.  Actually, he might fit in perfectly in those circles.

Take a dose of your own medicine dbecks.

The fact of the matter is that the Pats cheated.  They broke the rules and they were punished severely for what they did.  Huge fines for Belichick and the Pats and the loss of a first round pick.

The fact is Matt Walsh had nothing new to offer the league with respect to "Spygate".  Therefore the case is closed and the league can move forward.

And you're a hypocrite anyway!

In one sentence you state the following:

I do agree cheating is wrong and they did get more than a slap on the wrist for it

And yet in a previous paragraph you state:

I fault the Pats less and less as time goes on and ask... "why didn't we think of this first?"  Then I realize that many teams did do things like video taping the sidelines and so on before this "spygate"  occured

So............it's wrong to cheat, but less so as time goes on?

Maybe the Pats fans (a small minority to be certain) who still can't acknowledge the truth can grow up as well.

so your mad at the commish for destroying the tapes??  I do agree it that it does stink of scandal but they were only destroyed AFTER one was leaked to Fox Sports.  Talk about a no-win situation for the commish.  Either get blamed for a cover-up or have the tapes leaked to fans to keep playing on YouTube for the next decade.

And "That growing up bit works two ways ya know?".  Yeah the Pats got caught with their hand in the cookie jar but greater than 95% of all the immature posts are not from pats fans so yeah, then anti-pats (or hatriots) need to grow up.

I think you mean Robert Kraft owner of the Patriots and not Arthur Blank owner of the Falcons.  I still gave you a 5 for your comment, too many scandals taking place in the NFL right now.
