Maybe I'm a spoiled Braves fan but this guy isn't getting it done anymore. We never bunt runners over (which if your hitting leadoff get the can you please get a bunt down Kelly; you're hitting .260), we leave pitchers in to long and we can't win a one-run game. Not to mention the fact that we have a different lineup daily.

Also ... big Tex ... where ya at man? Everytime we got men on base you can't bring them in. It's great to hit a three-run homer when we're up by five, but do it when the game's on the line. Ditto Frenchy.

No. 4 and 5 hitters need to pick it up a little.

And Chuck James ... wow. He is awful. Nice ERA pal. Do we not have anybody else in our orginization that can pitch? Surely we have to. But wait ... when is the last time we've developed a starting pitcher? Can't recall one.

Just tired of watching us lose winnable games man. It was like this last year and it's like this again this year. Getting tired of it.

The Pirates ... The freaking Pirates own us.

Out!

Excellent post Yellowfin.  1st mistake made by Bobby Cox calling the bunt in the first ining after a lead-off double.  There is no way you should bunt a guy to third in the first inning especially with Escobar bunting.  In that position you let Esco swing the bat.

2nd mistake, why do you leave Chuck James out in the 6th inning after he got two men on?   It's not like he was pitching lights out or it was even two outs.  He did the same thing yesterday, he left Glavine out with the bases loaded and he gave up a two-run single.

I have no problem with the different line-up everyday as long as Corky Miller isn't in it.  I'm don't want to sound like blacktara, but it's time for Bobby Cox to leave right now!  He is making the worst decisions that you can make on the road at least. Stupid decisions!

I bet blacktara will be on this thread dogging Bobby Cox as always; but rightfully so this time, because I'm dogging him too.

One more thing the Braves got to have the worst luck in the world on the road.

-Brian McCann not getting the clear pick-off call at first.

-Yunel Escobar with Infante on first, hitting it hard right at the pitcher.

-All the great catches by the Pirates in these two games, and the hard hit balls right at people.

Well, you know what they say king...It all evens out in baseball.

If that's the case, the Braves are up for a hella long streak of good luck soon!!

Coxx is a decent manager, but I remember how he got schooled in that ws against the yanks by Joe T. I think if we would have keep Joe we would have 1 or 2 more ws rings

If Torre was our manager we would have like 6 WS.

And I think Bobby is just old and doesn't know what he's thinking anymore. I bet he falls asleep in the 7th around 9 pm...thats like 2 hours past his bedtime.

I love Bobby Cox and always will, but i believe it is time for a change.  This club is headed into a newer fresher generation.  We pulled the plug on Scheurholz last year, so I think it's time for bobby cox to hang up those spikes, get a new young guy in the managerial role who can be the sparkplug to this team.

ah and the difference between us and blacktara is blacktara doesn't know what he is talking aobut.  in his eyes bobby cox is one of the worst managers in the game.    I firmly believe Bobby cox will go down as the best manager of this generation and he will take his place in the hof.

but the time has come for bobby to step aside.  It's sad, but it's true.

Thoughts on this entire thread, all put into one post... It's easier that way...
Maybe I'm a spoiled Braves fan but this guy isn't getting it done anymore. -yellowfinI'll admit that we're not where we should be.  Atlanta has played better than anyone else in the division this year yet we're 4 games back.  This is possibly a reflection on Bobby Cox, specifically his misuse of the bullpen.

But then again, we're not giving up runs and we're playing the best baseball in the division.  That's gotta mean something.

We never bunt runners over  - yellowfinWe have 16 sacrifices this year.  I don't really know if that's a lot or not.  Let's see how we stack up against the division leaders:
Florida: 17
St. Louis: 16
Arizona: 13
Boston: 8
Chicago: 8
LA Angels: 5

Eh... This appears to be something that we're doing as much or more than most good teams.

Besides, people assume sacrificing runners is a great thing.  You're trading an out for a longshot hit anyway.  Maybe that isn't always the best thing unless a pitcher's at the plate.

which if your hitting leadoff get the can you please get a bunt down Kelly; you're hitting .260  - yellowfin
Why should leadoff hitters have to bunt that much?  They're going to be in fewer situations with runners on than anyone else in the lineup.

we leave pitchers in to long  - yellowfin
I don't really know who you mean, but that doesn't mean you're wrong.  Let's see how many pitchers have put in quality starts (6 or more innings and 3 or fewer runs) only to blow them past that point.  I guess that's what you're talking about, right?  I mean, sometimes you gotta save your bullpen and hope your starter can get out of it early on.  No one gets accused of leaving a starter in too long in the 3rd inning.  If you're talking about that sort of thing, I'm sorry.  If it's later in the game, though, here's what I find:
Tim Hudson - 0 times
Jair Jurrjens - 0 times
Tom Glavine - 0 times
John Smoltz - 0 times
Jeff Bennett - 0 times
