You love him because he's on your team. Just like Spurs fans love Manu the flop master Ginobili. Fans of other teams hate him. You'll either love him or you'll hate him. What do you expect? Everyone to love this guy. I know this much, if Carlos Boozer talked during the offseason the same way that Kobe did last season, he'll wear out his welcome; especially with up and coming Paul Millsap ready to take over. I don't think that Boozer would do that, but who knows? Is Kobe the only player ever to talk like that? NO. Karl Malone did it almost every year; it was sickening. I loved the guy during the season, but was sick of him during the summer. It was bitter sweet to see him go to the Lakers. Glad he finally left; pissed that he chose the Lakers; glad he had another chance at that ellusive ring. That season is the only one I ever rooted against Malone.
Jefe, I wish the Lakers and their fans the best...well except during games 5 and 6. Here's to a long healthy rivalry between the Jazz and Lakers.

Midmajor,
What you fail to see is the trust Kobe has in other teammates. Not the same player in years past. I understand the hate in Kobe past, but things have changed in present

I understand you are a Jazz fan. I understand that because of this, you will allow emotions to cloud your judgement as long as you live against Kobe Bryant.
You could try to make an analytical case on why somebody else like LeBron James or Chris Paul should diserve the MVP, but you went personal. EVen though he was never convicted of rape, you call him a rapist. You use emotions instead of intelligence and logic. Your emotions make it seem like Kobe Bryant is not even a good player. You say he sucks. So what if he scores over 30 against your Jazz consistantly? So what if he lead his team to a a victory on the Jazz homecourt earlier this year? It was one of only 4 losses the Jazz had on their home court. If he sucks, so bad, does that mean your team sucks worse? Why do you hate your own team?
You say he initiates contact, so you say Kobe sucks because the officials can't see that. You basically insult all the officials of the league as well. You insult everybody who chose him unaimously as a first team NBA player. You insult all the Jazz players and the Jazz coach who say he is a great player. You insult the NBA for naming him the MVP.
Kobe plays according to the rules of the NBA. If you don't like the rules, perhaps you are watching the wrong sport.
--------
As for this statement by "Go_midmajor"
"I still think that the Lakers would be a far better team had they agreed with Kobe last offseason and traded him. He's a freakin' baby."
------
What team had the best record in the WEST? The LAKERS. Do you understand that? Did you want the Lakers to be better? Are you secretly a Lakers fan, and that is why you say that? Is that why you hate on your own players? Is that why you hate the UTAH Jazz?

"Obviously you don't see the KB24 effect. He has a smashed pinkie, knee tendinitis, and now a bad back and he still schooled the Jazz!!! "
I wasn't aware that 13/33 shooting for 33 points was considered schooling anyone. That's less than 40% Go ahead, get out your calculators...

All these guys are little cry babies. Kobe deserved this award. and to say this team is better off without him is wrong. Your just another Chris Paul fan who is sad becuase he didnt get it. he didnt lead his team like Kobe did. Kobe turned this team round almost single handed. he's not his ball hog self anymore. hes a team player and he has finally admitted it takes a team to win.

Kobe is the MVP hands down. It is legitimate and nobody deserved it more than him this year. The only person who was robbed in this whole thing is Kobe. It shouldnt have been his first, or second for that matter.
The Lakers will take the series in 6! Thanks to Kobe Bryants MVP caliber play, the Lakers will finish the series in the NBAs most hostile environment.
Go Lakers!

midmajor,
You have truly shown your lack of knowledge or just plain ignorance of youth. Kobe has been on three championship teams and is, whether you agree or not, the MVP this year. Yet you say he "sucks". If he sucks with those credentials, then why do you love the Jazz so much? Who among that collection of players has ever won an MVP or even been a member of an NBA championship team?
On another note, Boozer won't wait around to wear out his welcome, he'll just bolt to another team that offers him 1 more $. He has already proven that. I don't dislike the Jazz, and I'm sure it was only a few real idiots who booed Fisher, but saying that Kobe and the Lakers suck is just stupid. I can't stand the Pistons, but I would love to have Billups on the Lakers, the same goes for Deron Williams. Williams has never won anything in the NBA, but I know he's a damn good player who certainly doesn't suck.
